"This restaurant can be inconsistent, but when they get it right, it's amazing. The lion head meatballs (4 on a plate) are some of the best I've ever had on both sides of the Pacific, filled with egg yolk. They are juicy and flavorful, pure decadence. I wasn't a fan of the eel texture, but usually I enjoy eel, and the egg with tofu dish was okay, but the noodle soup was fantastic. The egg dumplings were forgotten, but the crab soup dumplings were excellent. My suggestion is to come here for the lion's head meatballs. The line can be long, so plan accordingly."

I have visited so many Shanghainese restaurant in America. This is the most authentic Shanghainese restaurant I would say. I also place groupon orders mostly every week for their frozen Shanghainese dumpling and Zongzi. Highly Recommend you this Shanghai food restaurant.

The bun here is overpriced and the customer service is bad. You need to spend $25 more to use the credit card which is inconvenient. I once ordered a take-out and they messed with my food. The smoked fish has been mistakenly replaced with a nameless black salty vegetable.

most foods were wasted and they still served the customer. the fish was run off and smelled dirty and didn't taste good at all. most of the foods were touched and reset by inferior customers so that they germs are exposed. eating was so bad that the half of my family wanted to throw up View menu

Order to go and said I can pick up after 30mins, however when I drive 20mins there I wait another 40mins to get my food!! (Total waiting time is 55mins) Service is bad and no one told me how long I still need to wait, just one sentence: your food is not ready. And missed one dish, cashier didn’t said anything about it.

I would give 0 star if I could. It’s the worst service and attitude. I called earlier and they said I don’t need to wait and when I drove for 30 minutes to get there, they were very rude and asked us to wait for 30 minutes. And 30 minutes later they asked us to wait for another 30 minutes. Would never go or recommend this restaurant!

A total disappointment. All dishes are way too sweet, which is more like WU Xi cuisine. We ordered crabs and rice cakes'. Crabs tasted like 6 months old dead meat and dry. The stir fried eel' was also tasteless. I think Shanghai delight' in Milpitas is more authentic Shanghai cuisine, better and fresher material.BTW the waitress was rude. View menu

What a fantastic experience! Although it is primarily an English-speaking establishment, I was fortunate enough to dine with someone who speaks Mandarin. The fried porridges were definitely the standout dish for me, packed with pork and soup! The suppenknödel were also very tasty and the duck was absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone - a perfect 10/10!

The standout dish was the duck. It had a very enticing aroma, was tender and delicate, and came with a delicious sauce. It was clear that this dish was a favorite among diners since every table had ordered it. I regretted not ordering rice to soak up the sauce. The eel dish was also popular and had a unique flavor that differed from what I was expecting, reminiscent of Japanese Unagi preparation. Overall, I would rate the dining experience a 3.5, but it could have been a 4 if the dishes weren't too salty for my liking.
