"I would have given Indo Cafe 5 stars if it were not for the recent price increase. I really enjoy the food at this restaurant, especially the Lotong Sayur, which is one of the few gluten-free options available. The presentation of the dishes may not be the most appealing, but the flavors are fantastic. I particularly love the tender rice cakes, which are hard to find elsewhere. Whenever I return to South East Asia, I always make sure to have some Lotong, as it is one of my favorite dishes. The curry is also incredibly flavorful without being too heavy. It's more like a soup, and I savor every last drop. Unfortunately, I had to get The Lotong Sayur to go, as the restaurant no longer has a dine-in area due to the pandemic. The price used to be $15.50, but now it's $25, which I find quite shocking. I understand that other restaurants have raised their prices slightly, but a $10 increase seems excessive. While I would be willing to pay this amount at a high-end restaurant, Indo Cafe is not in that category. As much as I love the food, I don't think I can justify spending $25 on the Lotong Sayur again. It's disappointing to have to say goodbye to such a delicious dish. I will miss it, but I won't be returning to purchase it at this price."

We got the nasi padang and ayam panyet and they were delicious!!! Each dish was unique and flavorful in their own ways. A bit pricy but honestly worth the money.

This is a very authentic place. I am Indonesian and I'm really thrilled to have found this place to heal my food homesickness! Try the Balinese rice set, or the Gudeg. It's as real as they get!

It is with sadness that we announce the closure of this authentic Indonesian cafe in mid-March 2022. The owner, Maria, suggested following her on Instagram for updates on potentially taking Goldbelly orders in the future. Maria always prepared her food with care, using quality ingredients and never cutting corners. We will miss you and wish you the best in your future endeavors!

So glad Indo Cafe has re-opened! I know the owner has gone through some tough times recently and am delighted she has been able to re-open. Many restaurants have had to increase their prices because of the pandemic so personally, I have no issue with that. In these difficult times, we have to support each other. In any case, the food is absolutely delicious and I'm so glad I can get my weekly fix of mi tek tek again! View menu

Tante Maria (the owner) is very friendly and kind! I went here yesterday asking for martabak and they said we must order one day in advance. So we ordered martabak for today and I let everyone in the house to try it. They all love it! It's like very thick sweet pancake. We ordered chocolate, cheese, and condense milk for our toppings. In my opinion, it is good but could be sweeter!! Overall 8.5/10. Definitely a must try !

I recently returned to this restaurant for the first time since the onset of Covid-19, and they have implemented some changes. They now use a computer system for ordering and do not offer table service, which I appreciate. Additionally, they now accept credit cards and Apple Pay. I highly recommend trying the mie tek-tek, which is garlic fried noodles with chicken and shrimp. It is a delicious street food dish. The nasi Padang, which offers a variety of items, is also very good. The ice teler, a coconut pineapple mango drink, is sweet and delicious. Although the service is a bit slow and the prices are on the higher side, I still believe this restaurant is a good choice for anyone in the are...

"They recently changed their hours, so now they only stay open until 8 PM. This is quite strange, especially since it's summer, the movie theater in El Paseo is much busier following the closure of the AMC theater in Vallco, and it’s not even dark yet at that time. I really think they’re missing out on a lot of potential business. Additionally, they've added a code to the bathroom door, which makes me wonder if they were having issues with non-customers using it previously. It’s hard to say. What I do know is that during my brief visit, everyone who was given the code had difficulty opening the door because it included a special character at the end of a long string of numbers that nobody could remember. On a brighter note, they serve delicious coffee and pastries, and the staff is both knowledgeable and friendly. The strawberry pop tart had a lovely pastry crust that seemed to have been brushed with egg white to give it a nice sheen. The filling tasted *exactly* like Smucker's strawberry jelly… In fact, I suspect it might have actually been Smucker's! Whether that’s a good or bad thing is up to personal taste. However, I found it odd that while they offer several unusual ingredients for unique drinks, like turmeric and ginger for golden drinks, their selection of more standard flavored syrups is extremely limited. There’s no raspberry, no strawberry, and no other berry flavors—just chocolate, honey, coconut, and of course, turmeric. Their golden drinks have more of a winter flavor profile anyway, which is probably why they’re not currently on the menu. They have no specials at the moment (though they mentioned they can still make the turmeric drinks), zero fruit flavors, and a very limited selection of syrups. Come on, guys! Don’t rest on your laurels. What are you doing to stay competitive? Be sure to grab your turmeric latte before 8 PM!"

"Just enjoyed a very lovely anniversary dinner here, and while it was a lovely experience, it felt like it missed the mark on the few of their servings. First and foremost, the service was great and the staff very attentive, especially our gentleman busser who kept a very keen eye on our needs. The restaurant is decorated beautifully and felt very light even in the evening. We started with the Prawn Cigars which were delicious and the highlight of the night. The wasabi sauce was simply delightful.Next we had the beef marrow, which I was so looking forward to. Unfortunately, the garlic bread ciabatta it was served with was extremely heavy on the butter resulting in a fat on fat experience, which didn't leave us feeling too great. Non-buttered bread and a dash of citrus would have made it great. For the mains we had the scallops and the fillet steak. I found the scallops to be fine but my husband found the polenta to be too heavy. The steak was cooked to PERFECTION and while the dish has a lot of components, it all went together beautifully, though I will say the truffle aspect of the mashed potatoes was lost amongst all the other flavors. The goat cheese on the steak as well was inspired. For dessert, my husband had the sorbet, which was tasty but hard set in molds and then hard to cut through when eating. I had the deconstructed apple pie, which was tasty in most bites but was kind of ruined by the homage to baklava it was attempting. Specifically, the addition of honey in the sugar work and caramel, which came out slightly burnt tasting. Would have been better if they had (1) heated up the heavy whipping cream, mixed in the honey, and then chilled and whipped, or (2) done a honey glazed walnut and blitzed it down."
