"This was once a wonderful place to spend an afternoon or evening. It has changed entirely. While meal portions have shrunken, and prices have gone up, these are the least of this establishment 's problems. Customer service is at an all time low. It was my husband 's birthday. He took our daughter to out to dinner here, his favorite Ithaca restaurant. The hostess mistakenly typed in his phone number incorrectly at check in; after an hour of waiting, he went to check on their table. It had been given away. These things happen, it 's understandable. But the manager 's response was inexcusable. He said, and I quote, If you 're going to be unhappy, you can leave. No apology, nothing. He had the chance to make a full recovery from the 1:20 min wait the restaurant ended up creating on this special evening, but instead he was petty and rude. Don 't bother patronizing this establishment. It 's clear they don 't care about their customers, even the long time loyal ones.Addendum: A person who was also dining at the restaurant overheard the exchange and anonymously paid the bill. My husband only discovered this when he went to pay. Incredible kindness. Many thanks. Sadly, we won 't dine here again. The food isn 't what it used to be, and the management is just awful. They have created a culture where the customer doesn 't matter. There is no reason to support an establishment that doesn 't value its customers."

We stopped by after a long hike at Buttermilk. The service, food, and beer were all decent. While nothing was outstanding, it was a solid place to take a break during our trip.

The outdoor patio is absolutely fantastic, offering a beautiful view of the farmland. The food and beer are excellent as well. I highly recommend this place, and it's definitely worth the wait!

if I could this place a zero star rating I would!!! We came here on Father's Day and we waited over an hour to GET OUR TABLE and it over TWO HOURS to WAIT for our food! So in total we waited over THREE HOURS for water and some drinks!! We LEFT when another table that ordered AFTER us got their food first! No compensation or anything!!! I will never be coming again!!!! View menu

You're not gonna get the best experience if you come here for the food rather than the beer. My first experience here was just drinks, which was awesome- the apricot wheat is delicious.Service is my biggest concern here. They close the kitchen far before the restaurant does and they should make that clearer- you need to come more than an hour before the restaurant closes if you want food. Otherwise, good place to get drinks

Incredible experience! I'm not sure why some people seem to have complaints. I visit this place a few times whenever I'm in town to see my family. The new hazy beer is fantastic, and the sandwiches are top-notch. On my last visit, I sat at the bar with my wife and son, and the bartenders were exceptionally friendly and provided prompt service. If you're a fan of hazy beer, this spot is definitely a must-try. I would mention the staff by name if they had name tags, but unfortunately, they don’t.

We held our rehearsal dinner here on Thursday night, and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The staff was so friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and timely. They were over the top accommodating with our two guests with allergies, both of whom said they have never had a restaurant be so thorough and accommodating with ingredients, omitting and changing up recipes for sauces and marinades to allow our guests to eat. The food was so delicious and we couldn’t have asked for anything better. We visit Ithaca Beer Co. every time we’re in Ithaca and I know they have lots of new fans now. View menu

Palpable apathy. I've had great experiences many years ago but my last three visits were decidedly lackluster. We're told it's an 80 minute wait upon arrival but when we ask for about outdoor seating we're told sure go ahead. I counted 31 empty tables. And they're selling one sandwich outside but you can order (only) fries at the bar. So I do. They tell everyone it's a 2-5 minute wait but it takes nearly half an hour. A guy that might have been a manager asked me what I was waiting on, pointed to some fries, and told me they probably just lost my order. Then he simply walked away. All of the ten employees I interacted with seemed apathetic or annoyed. I don't understand what they're aiming f...

Very disappointing experience! I have been to the Ithaca Beer Company several other times with family and friends, but this was the worst experience I’ve ever had there. We waited an hour and 13 minutes for a table for 6 people. They were waiting for a specific 6-top to become available while seating all other smaller parties ahead of us. When we were finally seated, we were directly in front of the air conditioning vent that was blowing so fiercely that my hair was moving and I had to get a sweatshirt from my car. And, 3 of our party were in direct sunlight and had to wear their sunglasses or caps while seated in order to see. We had ordered fries from the bar before we were seated and we w...

"My girlfriend and I decided to take a romantic getaway on the finger lakes and our drive had us passing through Ithaca, so we decided to stop for dinner. A good friend recommended this place, and admittedly I was skeptical of Italian food this far from New York City, but I trust their recommendations and decided to give it a try. I am so glad that I did. For our wine selection, our server allowed us to sample one of the wines by the glass, which tasted thin. When we described what we wanted, she came back with a reasonably priced bottle that exactly hit the deep red notes that we were looking for (see the picture for the winery vintage if interested . We started with the crostini sampler. In my opinion, the Caponata was the best, but they were all interesting to try and I was glad we got all three. As a nice touch, they cut each crostini in half so my girlfriend and I could both easily sample each one. For dinner, I had the grilled hanger steak, which came with rapini and shoestring fries. I admittedly gave an annoyingly long description of how I wanted it cooked (essentially rare+ and they nailed it. The steak was fantastic, but the accompaniments were so good that they almost stole the show. The shoestring fries’ rosemary seasoning was a fun twist and the rapini was both familiar (garlic and olive oil and excitingly different. For dessert, I had what was essentially espresso mousse with graham crackers and a glass of dessert wine. While probably the weakest course, it was still a delicious way to cap an amazing meal. The mousse required a bit more texture, but fortunately they provided graham crackers on the side (which I suggest crumbling into the mousse . I’d highly recommend checking this place out if you happen to be in the area."
