"We had an amazing experience the first time we visited—food was delicious, generously portioned and reasonably priced. The restaurant is cozy and quaint and we loved the colonial experience. The wait staff was extremely nice. On our next visit, we were told, quite abruptly that we needed a reservation. It was three o’clock and the dining room was empty. The first receptionist looked to seat us, but was intercepted by another person who asked if we had a reservation. Then they ran to get yet another person who was not particularly nice about sending us away. It was awkward and uncomfortable. We are willing to go back and will make a reservation in the hopes we can enjoy another positive experience."

The way taverns used to be! Walking through the door takes you back in time. Such a great menu! Awesome beer selection! Definitely a must stop in when in historic New Castle!

I was at your tavern last night. I was told there were no seats. The tavern had no one sitting in it. Went to the bar to have dinner. The bartender served us water. She was more interested in the males at the bar. We weren’t approached after that. I have dined at the tavern several times. Won’t be going back. View menu

Brought friends and were very pleased as they loved the Belgian Beers and entrees! You can't do better for casual dining and fantastic libations!! Not anywhere. Dietary restrictions: The food is prepared well and hot when served. A friendly environment. The Belgian selection will make a fan of one that never liked beer!!

3 visits here and always enjoy the meal. This trip had the tavern salad with shrimp. Rolls served very warm with regular butter and a sweet honey cinnamon flavorbutter? You have to request the bread. Husband had the bunker hill beef with sweet potato fries very good. It is nice to be in a tavern without a TV. Place is small but has an old world feel to it. Great desserts too
