"Jim's is a favorite Thai go-to. It's as casual as it gets, and it's definitely somewhere you would walk right by and never notice. But, you need to go in. The staff is friendly, and the food is great! Though we have ordered many times, we went there to dine in for my birthday last week. To an outsider, it may not seem the ideal choice for a birthday dinner, but to me it was perfect. My boyfriend and friends were able to decorate above our table. We were the only guests, so we were able to hear each other and get great service. (There are only 5 tables in the dine-in section. And, from the moment we got there, the cook never stopped cooking. The to-go orders were rolling in one after the other! I had the Pad See Eiw, and I loved it. My boyfriend enjoyed his spicy Yellow Curry. Another friend had Pineapple Fried Rice. Everyone was extremely pleased. It's BYOB, so we also enjoyed 2 bottles of champagne. I suggest everyone enjoy delicious $10 Jim Noodle!"

TERRIBLE. If you are ordering this off uber eats DO NOT DO IT. $20 on awful food with unbelievably small portions.

Update: they are closed : I used to live next door, in a building that has now been buldozed and turned into million dollar condos. I used to eat Jim Noodle all the time. It was cheap and good. Hopefully they got a lot of money to close :

Jims is a no frills place that has quality Thai food at a good price. We had a taste test against curry from another local Thai place and Jims won out. It is reminiscent of the food I had when we visited Thailand. Plus the owner Jim is a really nice guy.

Best Thai food in all Chicago! Had it everywhere, and no joke, this place is the best. Great service. Quick and piping hot when delivered. (The owner, who also cooks some of the food!, dropped off our meal once when we ordered past 10pm. Such great service! Good prices. Amazing flavors. We love: Pad Sew Ew; Bangkok Chicken; Panang Curry Everything is delish!! View menu

I'm absolutely obsessed with Jim Noodle. It's my favorite Asian restaurant I've found in the city. I used to live right around the corner, but even since I've moved I still make the trek to the area for Jim. I've tried a variety of menu items, my favorite being the Pad See Ew. Don't like the small, slightly dingy exterior of the building fool you, this place is a gem!!! Would recommend to anyone.

I ordered two noodle dishes, and both arrived in styrofoam containers. Unlike most places that pack their takeout containers to the top, these were only filled a little over halfway. I wasn't sure if this was because I chose items from the lunch special menu (as both dishes I ordered were listed there), but I was charged full price, so maybe the regular portions are just small? The smaller portions would have been acceptable if the food had been good, but it was pretty mediocre overall. I left feeling disappointed with the whole experience.

I had lunch here with some co-workers today, and I wish I could have this for lunch everyday! This is a tiny place. There are about 8 small tables inside, and 2 employees. You can see everything in the kitchen, which I like. The lunch specials are a great deal. For $6.45 you get an appetizer and a entree. With tax the total was $7.10. I had the spicy basil leaves with chicken and crab rangoon. (It came with 2 crab rangoon which made me happy because 1 just isn't enough). Both were good. I also tried the chicken fried rice and the garlic chicken. They were good as well. I would gladly come here again! View menu

But today, I strayed just a bit. Normally, I admire from afar, but then I met Jim. We clicked right away, and before I knew it, I was asking for his number. When I called him later, he arrived in just about 20 minutes! Let me tell you, when it comes to flavor, Jim knows how to impress and really caters to my taste! His dishes are saucy and hot—the experience is just as satisfying as Joy’s, but with a refreshing twist. I never expected to enjoy something outside of my usual routine this much! I think I might keep Jim around as a little secret indulgence. Just please, don’t tell Joy—I don’t want to hurt her feelings!

I recommend ordering takeout from this restaurant, but I wouldn't suggest dining in. The space is quite small, with simple cafeteria-style tables and chairs, and lacks any real ambiance—bordering on uncomfortable, to be honest. However, the food is tasty and reasonably priced for takeout. The pad thai isn't the best I've had, but it's definitely not the worst either. Plus, if your order totals over $25, you get a free pad thai, which is a nice perk. Of all the dishes, the standout for me was the panang curry noodle from the crispy zone menu—it's incredibly rich and absolutely delicious. The pad see ew and teriyaki chicken were also better than average.

"Tempesta is arguably one of the best sandwich shops in the city. They make a lot of their meats in house and use high quality ingredients so you know you’re getting the good stuff. Not only can you get a great sandwich, you can purchase most of their meats to go as well as other small artisanal grocery items. I have tried almost every sandwich they have on the menu but my top two choices would be the #1 The Dante and the #2 Yo! Vincenzo! The Dante is their version of a classic Italian sandwich but a bit on the spicier side. The Yo Vincenzo is a chicken parm and I personally think it’s the best chicken parm sandwich in the city. The chicken is perfectly crispy, and they use just the right amount of sauce where it doesn’t get soggy. Both of these sandwiches come on their fresh baguette which helps set them apart from other sandwich spots in Chicago just because of how good it is. The B Franklin is also a great option, and if you’re starving get the Wagyu Pastrami but be warned it is a very heavy sandwich because of that Wagyu. The last pro tip I’ll add in here is order your sandwich ahead of time if you’re doing takeout. This is a very popular spot and is always busy during the lunch rush so if you wait to order until you arrive you may need to wait for 10-15 minutes. That should speak to how good this place is because it’s in such high demand, so if you’re in Chicago make sure you stop in!"
