Jimmy's Egg - Menu

This place is very popular on weekends, often with a line out the door, but my recent visit was on a Wednesday morning.

Standard breakfast place I would group in the same category as IHOP or Village InnEverything is ok but nothing is fabulous.

My first visit to this location. This is now my favorite one in Omaha. Our waitress (Mary) was very good and got our order soon after we sat down. She returned with our food in about minutes and checked with us twice during our meal. I had the ham and cheese omelet with hash browns and a side of biscuits and gravy. My omelet was cooked very good and was loaded with ham. My hash browns were nice and crisp on the outside and tender inside. My biscuits were very fresh and the gravy was thick and seasoned the way I like it. Most places put way too much pepper in it. My friend had a huge pancake and an order of hash browns. This was my first time visiting this Jimmy's Egg location, and it’s now my favorite spot in Omaha. Our waitress, Mary, was excellent—she took our order shortly after we sat down and brought our food in about five minutes. She checked on us twice during the meal, which was appreciated. I ordered the ham and cheese omelet with hash browns and a side of biscuits and gravy. The omelet was perfectly cooked and packed with ham. The hash browns were crispy on the outside and tender inside. The biscuits were very fresh, and the gravy was thick and seasoned just right—not overly peppered like at most places. Definitely Worth the Wait. I always wondered if breakfast at Jimmy's Egg was worth the wait, and now I know it is. On a rainy Sunday morning, we waited less than 10 minutes before being seated. The menu is extensive and offers everything you'd expect from a breakfast spot. What stood out to me were the sweet potato pancakes—they were delicious with a lovely sweet flavor.
