"I first had Jim's Smokehouse a year and a half ago, the first time I visited Austin. I was blown away by the food and service of this place the first go around and often dreamt about going back when I visit Austin again. Well, I just moved here and made it to Jim's as quickly as I could. We had the Brisket Chili which was loaded with the smokiest, juiciest brisket I have ever had (far better than Salt Lick, and Terry Black's). I had the B-RAD Bomber (special of the day) which consisted of Jalapeno Cheddar Sausage, Pulled Pork, Melted Pepper Jack Cheese, topped with Pico De Gallo, in between a fresh, perfectly toasted bun. Can't beat this place."

Excellent moist brisket and rubs. The jicama slaw is definitely a must as well! Definitely a great place to stop on 71 in Spicewood.

OH. MY. GOSH. The ribs. Best I’ve ever eaten. A sweet, peppery seasoning. Thick, moist, smoked meat so tender. Wish I wasn’t full. Want to eat morr!! View menu

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant! As a vegetarian, I was impressed with the delicious sides and couldn't wait to go back. The Mac and cheese was hands down the best I've ever had. My husband loved the brisket and turkey as well. Overall, this place is definitely worth a visit, even if it's not close by. I give the food a 5 out of 5 rating.

The brisket is well-made and tasty. That said, I’m assuming the over pricing is due to its proximity to Steiner Ranch. There are several places up and down 620 with incredibly reasonable prices and more traditional barbecue offerings. It seems like they’re trying to jazz up pulled pork and brisket with some fancy sandwiches and wraps. The guys who took my order were friendly and nice but, with the overpricing and the lack of traditional barbecue offerings, I’m gonna look elsewhere.
