"After the first time eating here we knew we had to come back! Since our local place in Shelby with the best ribs closed several years ago we had to find something as good and the other local places here just aren't as good but the BBQ house guys in Oak Isalnd have the best out of town ribs and BBQ sandwiches! they need to show our locals how to do it They also have a few extra different sauces you can add to your bbq as well on the table which is great cuz i love a more vinegar based sauce so it's nice to have options but the sauce they use on the ribs is super tasty as well. We have even started going down for new years the last few years and they were open on new years day which was great. The staff is always friendly and they make you feel at home. The restaurant itself has a small down home feel which I love. We will make sure to always keep one night open for BBQ when we go down for vacation! And the prices are good for the amount of food and for how good it is. Kid-friendliness: It is kid friendly and they have chicken strips for picky eaters"

Delicious BBQ! Were locals and go at least twice a month at lunchtime. We love their smoked chicken, bbq pork, fried okra, onion rings, baked beans, green beans and their sauces. Super nice people work here too. Highly recommend!

Look, I was so hungry and excited for my Rack of Ribs that I didn't take a picture I'm sorry! But I kid you not, they are incredible!!! Perfectly cooked, and smothered in beautiful BBQ sauce, even the baked beans are damn good! You may need to WAIT a bit, because this place is crazy busy, they do have some tables inside, but we did carry out and ate at the house. The pulled BBQ is really good too especially the sandwiches, even the coleslaw is quite good. The parking is extremely limited too, but usually someone is leaving every few minutes so you might get lucky! You definitely want to eat here during your trip for lunch or dinner, trust me!
