"My husband and l placed an order here for Hibachi Steak and Shrimp. My husband unknowingly inadvertently sent the order through twice literally within seconds of each other. In the process of placing the order he provided his phone number. We arrived at the restaurant to pick up the only order we were aware of. The next day I noticed that we had been charged twice for the exact same amount. My husband called about it and the person at Joy of Tokyo refused to refund our money for the second order saying that the food was prepared and had to be wasted because it wasn?t picked up. We were unaware of the second order when we picked our food up. If it was there and prepared like they say it was then why didn?t they give it to us when we picked up the order we did know about? Why not call us about the second order and have us pick it up they had our phone number. Shady shady business practices! We will no longer be dining here as there are far better options out there anyway and I refuse to do business with a company that steals their customers money. I recommend going to Oriental House."

The food was excellent as always, and there was no wait! I absolutely love Joy of Tokyo. Food Rating: 5/5.

The tempura plate was disappointing. There was an excessive amount of breading, and the vegetables didn't taste fresh. While the staff was friendly, the food left much to be desired. Overall, I would rate it 1 out of 5. View menu

This was my first time at this location, but second time eating at this restaurant chain. I enjoyed the visit here better than the last location. The service was great and the food came out good as well. I don’t recommend the chicken. It is WELL DONE and dry.Food: 3/5

I used to eat regularly at the location on Pelham Road and enjoyed it very much. I had the hibachi chicken and it was average. The steamed rice was not hot and the chicken and vegetables were not hot. With the cost of food these days I expect better. Doubtful that I will go back to this location.

I've been visiting this restaurant for years, but I've noticed a decline in quality. The chicken tends to be bland and rubbery, and there are hardly any vegetables included now—just oversized onion pieces and a few bits of broccoli. On the bright side, the customer service is consistently excellent, and the food is prepared quickly. However, I really miss how the food used to taste! View menu

Bad service, high price for undercooked scallops, vegetables and dry rice. No point on leaving a good tip, you pick up your own food when they yell at you “don’t mind being on a call” and you pick up after yourself. My husband and I got hibachi and a kids rice and shrimp because there is NO KIDS MENU and paid $55.00 for undercooked food. Not to mention there was a long white dog on my kids food.

I usually don't post reviews BUT the last SEVERAL times I've gotten sushi from here, it has tasted AWFUL!! The quality of the salmon/tuna avocado is just GROSS! The avocado is hard yellow the fish is tough tasteless. This used to be one of my favorite fast food Japanese places I've wasted so much money thrown so much food away from them over the past year due to poor quality. I hate it because it's so close to my house but I'd rather go to a high quality Japanese place, pay more love my food than to go here spit it in the trashcan. They increased prices but lowered food quality since Covid which really sucks because they are losing customers who loved them before.

"This place has really gone downhill! I used to have breakfast here once a week and at first the food was fairly consistent (I always order the same thing). The last few times I went, which was over the course of several months, the food was AWFUL! I ordered a cinnamon roll that was served still frozen in the center. Customizations we 're ignored. Eggs were raw.. there were issues like these at every visit. But the very last time I visited, every single thing my party ordered was awful. One guest with a dairy allergy was served a dish smothered in sour cream (of course, they ordered it to be dairy free). Before it was even placed on the table, the food runner was made aware that it was made wrong, they apologized, and said they 'd remake it correctly. Several minutes later, they brought out the EXACT same plate of food except most of the sour cream had been scraped off, and from sitting in the back it was now cold. I was appalled! To add insult to injury, another person in the party had ordered a jalapeño cornbread that came out burnt to a crisp. This time, we told the server that it was exceptionally over cooked, which he agreed with, apologized, and said he 'd bring a less well done one . Same scenario this time..a few minutes later, the exact same, burnt to a crisp jalapeño cornbread was reserved to our table. At this point we sent back both dishes and asked to have them removed from the check. Initially the server said they would only to return a moment later saying the manager wouldn 't remove the dishes! The compromise was that we could choose 1 dish off the menu for them to prepare as a to go meal at no additional charge. We stated we just wanted the cost of the inedible food removed, but they firmly refused. When all was said and done, the $25 for food we never even touched remained on our bill. I will never be back!"
