"Our group of four enjoyed dining here in mid-November and had a brief 10-minute wait despite having a reservation. Once we were seated, the service was prompt. The chef was quiet but friendly, and everything was prepared to perfection, particularly the red snapper. Our server was very attentive and made sure our drinks were always filled throughout the meal. The only improvement I would suggest is to enhance the indoor waiting area, as it can get quite cold during the winter months. The doors are heavy and tend to close quickly, so just be cautious not to get your fingers caught! This restaurant has long been a family favorite, and we can’t wait to return soon!"

I've dined here multiple times and each experience has been fantastic. This recent visit was no exception—the food was exceptional! The chefs' lively performance was captivating, and the staff was very attentive throughout. Kanpai Japanese is fast becoming one of my favorite Japanese steakhouses in the region.

The staff member at the table next to us appeared intoxicated and was drinking beer while cooking for customers. The restaurant was quite dirty—the carpet, chair cushions, walls, and grill all showed signs of neglect. Some of the ventilation hoods didn’t seem to be working, causing the space to fill with smoke and cooking oils. Surprisingly, my vegetable dish was enjoyable thanks to the chef. Otherwise, I would have given this place just one star. Honestly, I regret not leaving without eating.

We were seated quickly, but due to the table and grill setup, we had to wait for the previous group’s chef to finish before ours could begin, which took some time.
