"Went here for lunch today for the first time. I was very satisfied with the al pastor (marinated pork) tacos. My only complaint is that the tacos were pretty expensive (relative to other restaurants) and the portions were smaller than anticipated. A single taco will set you back $3.75 and a combo with 3 tacos, beans and rice will set you back $14 before sales tax. I ordered three tacos but no sides. I could've probably eaten five or even six tacos. For $3.75, I would expect three or four to fill me up. With that being said, I think it's worth it, especially given that the tacos were really good and there aren't many good Mexican restaurants (Qdoba doesn't count) within walking distance."

No “designer” Mexican food here. This is the real deal. Staff are great!

It's my favorite breakfast burrito place in downtown Chicago. Great green salsa.

Very solid spot in the loop for a quick place to get some tacos and sit downYou order at the front and they bring out your food in about 5 minutes.

Love this place, have missed it since they move from Jackson. Quick service, good food, and complimentary chips and salsa. Friendly staff always playing dance music techno tacos.

Stopped in for lunch today for the first time. Ordered the quesadilla dinner and it was lots of food and delicious. Also, the customer service is great here. Highly recommend this place if you are near the financial district of the loop. View menu

This is my 3rd time having La Cocina. My 3rd visit I got the chicken tamale plate. Hair in my tamale and the picture attached is exactly how my food looked when I opened it. Tamale open and u can see I didn’t waste anything in my platter. Done.

Wife and I came in for breakfast this morning. It’s casual. We had the huevos rancheros and a breakfast burrito. Spicy sauce is spicy so I’d recommend on side unless you’re really a fan of spice. Portions were huge but delicious. Service was prompt and kind. Definitely worth a visit.

"Tempesta is arguably one of the best sandwich shops in the city. They make a lot of their meats in house and use high quality ingredients so you know you’re getting the good stuff. Not only can you get a great sandwich, you can purchase most of their meats to go as well as other small artisanal grocery items. I have tried almost every sandwich they have on the menu but my top two choices would be the #1 The Dante and the #2 Yo! Vincenzo! The Dante is their version of a classic Italian sandwich but a bit on the spicier side. The Yo Vincenzo is a chicken parm and I personally think it’s the best chicken parm sandwich in the city. The chicken is perfectly crispy, and they use just the right amount of sauce where it doesn’t get soggy. Both of these sandwiches come on their fresh baguette which helps set them apart from other sandwich spots in Chicago just because of how good it is. The B Franklin is also a great option, and if you’re starving get the Wagyu Pastrami but be warned it is a very heavy sandwich because of that Wagyu. The last pro tip I’ll add in here is order your sandwich ahead of time if you’re doing takeout. This is a very popular spot and is always busy during the lunch rush so if you wait to order until you arrive you may need to wait for 10-15 minutes. That should speak to how good this place is because it’s in such high demand, so if you’re in Chicago make sure you stop in!"
