"We've been living in the area for a few years now, and always pass this place on the way in and out of town. Today we were on our way back from hiking the Hawksbill trail and finally got the opportunity to stop for lunch. This the absolute best Mexican food I've had in a very, very long time. Some chips and salsa, a couple beers, and chimichangas were the perfect end to our afternoon. So glad we stopped, and will be coming back, as this is our new Mexican restaurant spot. A hidden gem! This restaurant has been serving up excellent Mexican cuisine since 1991, making it the first of its kind in the high country. We visited after a hike and they were able to accommodate our large group with ease. The service was friendly, the food was delicious, and the prices were quite reasonable. I highly recommend it!

The food was enjoyable, and the margaritas were decent but rather standard. I inquired about top-shelf options like Grand Marnier or Gran Gala, but they only offered margaritas made with premium tequila. The food and menu exceeded expectations, though the atmosphere was just average. Unfortunately, our server was not up to par; she appeared uninterested and as though she didn’t want to be there. Additionally, she frequently left items at one end of the table, expecting us to pass them along, which was a bit inconvenient. We'll definitely give it another try at some point.
