"Very unique restaurant in such a small town in rural NC. LP has a beautiful modern but also rustic atmosphere. I would highly recommend anyone who lives or visits Banner Elk to come and eat at this restaurant. I'm somewhat of a regular here and it is one of my top 5 restaurants between Boone and Banner Elk. Drinks are fantastic. Huge wine menu. Dishes are delicious and beautifully executed. The menu has only a few options currently but every single thing on the menu is a must try. Id prefer this over a bloated menu where I have to guess if something is going to be decent. There are no substitutions for dishes because dishes and flavors are put together by an experienced chef. If you have dietary restrictions you might be slightly limited on options."

This place is not too great if you have food allergies and sensitivities. Will not go back. No place has ever refused to put dressing on the side for me. They make no tweaks to men items. Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

By far this family owned venue is this foodie’s favorite restaurant in the High Country. Besides fabulous customer interaction, the food is fabulous and fun, great wine list too! I love the oysters and the scallop dish, and those sweet potato crisps compliment everything served. I highly recommend this intimately charming must visit while in Banner Elk!!! Eating at LP on Main is like eating at your mama's house. It's pretty good as long as you want it just like mama fixes it. Don't ask to leave off anything or make ANY changes. You'll get it the way mama has decided to do it. After all mama is only one person and doesn't have time to put up with your foolishness. Dietary restrictions: Hope you don't have any! Service: Dine in

We attempted to have a lunch after my Dad's funeral at LP on Main. We were a larger party, about 10 people. We were fine with waiting. But we weren't even given the option. The front of the house staff was rude and very unaccommodating. The staff was also not friendly with a snobbish attitude the two times prior we ate there. The food is overrated and overpriced for what's delivered. I spent my summers as a kid in Banner Elk. And I now bring my kids. But this is NOT the Louisiana Purchase from 20 years ago. The new owners lost a lot of the charm the original restaurant had. So disappointing.
