"I adore this restaurant. Golden Hill is filled with many many quality eateries, and Counterpoint anchors the neighborhood with it's fun atmosphere and dedication to quality. They recently renovated and the new space is open, airy and provides a variety of seating options: bar seating, restaurant seating, and upper balcony (I use this as a quiet place to WFH during the week), and an outdoor patio. I'm partial to the biscuit and gravy for breakfast, but the brined chicken and waffles or breakfast hash always makes me smile and sends me unto the world with a better outlook on life and a doggie bag. When it's hot, delicious crunchy salads are on the lunch menu and the craft beers and unique slushy flavors change. Counterpoint takes the quality of food and libations seriously. The craft cocktails rotate as the bartenders are encouraged to explore and grow. The owner and team are always warm, welcoming and make sure you have a good experience. Did I mention they are DOG friendly? Definitely worth the trip up the hill from downtown if you're looking to wind down after an event or precharge and eat before a baseball game. I love to bring my friends for a snack (try the olive selection) and chat on a twilight night. Space heaters outside if you get cold. Fans inside if you get warm. Honestly if you live in or are visiting the 92102 area code you should go to Counterpoint: good food, really good cocktails, and great company. It is clear that this establishment cares about quality, cares about your comfort and loves if you have a good time."

"A little loud, but otherwise great! Order at the bar two burgers, mine as the chef intended (almost), his plain and dry. Salt and pepper fries. Coke to drink (maybe a splash of rum, but I'm not driving). Food was FANTASTIC. Lovely flavor, juicy but not dripping down your arm (my arm can't taste it anyway). The bun was perfectly toasted, the veggies fresh and crisp! The fries were perfectly cooked crispy outside, creamy inside, just the right amount of seasoning. I wish I lived here, I'd eat her twice a week!"

"We had dinner on February 13 to celebrate our anniversary, and it was truly romantic. They adorned our table with scattered rose petals, which was a lovely touch. Our waitress was exceptionally friendly, and both the steak and lobster were cooked to perfection—delicious and incredibly juicy. I've visited many steakhouses, but this one stands out as the best. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves steak and lobster. Thank you for a wonderful evening and delicious food! It was superb!"

"Been to this spot for a long time used to be a weekly regular to be honest came back after about a year and this place was completely different was over last night for a dinner with a couple of friends. We basically got kicked out of our table, my wife and her friend weren’t even half way done with their drink, food was cold and nothing compared to what it used to be. We were literally pushed out of this restaurant by the server and by the so called GM I forget her name from last night. Unprofessional and a complete disappointment from what this spot used to be. Jorge Cuevas this spot is falling apart and I know for a fact that from having various discussions with you you would disapprove of this service and ethics. Ya need to go back to the drawing board my friend or this place is going to end up like West Hollywood location. Loved this spot for a long time and unfortunately the decision of not coming back again was made last night. It’s very unfortunate cause I used to love this spot, the service, the people and the ambiance"

"Their menu has their vegan options labeled so you can easily find them. The pizza dough was Neapolitan style and was the perfect amount of fluffy to crispy. The vegan cheese for the pizza tasted like follow your heart. They have a vegan pesto pizza (Piera) with mushrooms that was super good. We started with the Tagliere Vegano which had grilled zucchini, eggplant, cherry tomatoes, and onions as well as walnuts and grapes. Make a reservation in advance if you want to dine here in the summer. Lots of outdoor seating. Updated from previous review on 2022-08-15"
