"The Brunswick Stew is fantastic! The kids all ate every bite of the chicken fingers and my four are very picky. The pork plate was not the best I have had but still good enough to eat. But I finished everything still feeling hungry portions seemed small. It tasted like they baked the pork in an oven. It was not smoked or cooked in a pit. I have eaten in some of the best restaurants in the world and an average person would probably rate it higher than 3.7 stars. You should definitely stop and eat the stew though it was up there with the best I have eaten!"

I prefer the pork over the beef; there was way too much liquid smoke in the beef for my taste, so I ended up giving most of it to my dog.

Some of the best BBQ around... and do not leave before you get a piece of their homemade peanut butter cake, it's the best cake I've had. Great people, very friendly, definitely recommend. View menu

They absolutely love the homemade fries, and the barbecue was quite good as well. They offered homemade desserts priced at just $2.00, which were heavenly! I enjoyed the peanut butter cake and a vanilla-filled French horn. I really had to say goodbye to them.

The bbq sandwich was good, but after we got there (around 1:40-1:45) and sat down they put a sign up saying they were closing early (2:30 pm). After about 5 minutes they changed the time on the notice to say 2 pm. I understand being short staffed and having to close early, but don't seat people mere minutes before you're going to close ... We received outstanding hospitality right from the start. Our server was fantastic. My wife and I shared the pit chicken and rib plates, and they were absolutely delicious—so tender they melted in our mouths. We were really sorry that we didn't have any room left for dessert. We highly recommend this hidden gem of a restaurant to anyone who loves great barbecue!

We planned to meet friends for lunch there after driving 4 hours on Monday, May 2. However, the place was CLOSED. Even the drive-thru, which the sign out front says was open, was CLOSED! A continual stream of cars turned in and then left while we decided on an alternate place for lunch, which ended up being McD's. Call before you go...they may be permanently CLOSED!?!
