"The worst food that i ever try, i ask to the cashier for 2 shrimp tacos as soon i pay i takes les than 1 min to get my food, and this give me a red flag, everyone how likes sea food knows that the seafood has to be fresh, and when you fried it takes more than 4 min, the taste was nasty, and cold, i never come back to this place and when they ask me whats the most expensive food in SD i would say this place, because you pay for something that is not worth it........"

My favorite are the Marlin tacos, but pretty much everything is good here. View menu

Really tasty ceviche and aguachile. Ceviche is a good value. May want to ask for extra tostadas

The best seafood tacos I've ever tasted! The mariscada tacos and marlin tacos are simply outstanding—truly top-notch.

I can't put zero. But what a bad thing I asked for a large canoechana and they only fill it with ONE Hugo that almost tasted like water. And no mariacs, just shrimp. I do not recommend it View menu

I've been to this restaurant a few times, and while the food is excellent, they consistently make mistakes with our orders and never seem to resolve them. It's frustrating to spend $50 and receive the wrong meal.

I typically don’t write negative reviews, but I have to say my experience was disappointing. The fish tacos were small and soggy, and the ceviche de camarón tostada was essentially just pico de gallo with a few pieces of shrimp. To make matters worse, when I requested consomé, they claimed they had run out, yet I saw them serve it to the guests who arrived after me. There are much better options in the area; I wouldn’t recommend this place.

"I adore this restaurant. Golden Hill is filled with many many quality eateries, and Counterpoint anchors the neighborhood with it's fun atmosphere and dedication to quality. They recently renovated and the new space is open, airy and provides a variety of seating options: bar seating, restaurant seating, and upper balcony (I use this as a quiet place to WFH during the week), and an outdoor patio. I'm partial to the biscuit and gravy for breakfast, but the brined chicken and waffles or breakfast hash always makes me smile and sends me unto the world with a better outlook on life and a doggie bag. When it's hot, delicious crunchy salads are on the lunch menu and the craft beers and unique slushy flavors change. Counterpoint takes the quality of food and libations seriously. The craft cocktails rotate as the bartenders are encouraged to explore and grow. The owner and team are always warm, welcoming and make sure you have a good experience. Did I mention they are DOG friendly? Definitely worth the trip up the hill from downtown if you're looking to wind down after an event or precharge and eat before a baseball game. I love to bring my friends for a snack (try the olive selection) and chat on a twilight night. Space heaters outside if you get cold. Fans inside if you get warm. Honestly if you live in or are visiting the 92102 area code you should go to Counterpoint: good food, really good cocktails, and great company. It is clear that this establishment cares about quality, cares about your comfort and loves if you have a good time."
