We attended a banquet it was set up very beautifully the food was very good the service was great everyone had excellent customer service I felt like royalty and I will recommend the Marriott to anyone.

Overpriced Valet service $25.00), $3.50 bottles of water in room, $7.00 beer at the bar, NO continental breakfast for exorbitant room rates, horrible mattresses, stained carpeting. This location is ALL about money, not customers.

This is a pleasant spot located within the hotel. We only ordered drinks and an appetizer, so I can't fully evaluate the entire menu. However, the service was excellent, and our waitress was fantastic. Overall, it's a solid restaurant for a hotel. View menu

we went for dsm restaurant week. we thought the little bites were small, eating was pretty dirty, and the ambiente is that of a hotel lobby. our server was really nice, but plates were placed for each cure on the wrong place. the maiseis was the best part.

Every time I'm in town, I love having a delicious pork chop here. The glaze and vegetables change, but I’ve never been let down. Last night, the bar area was quite crowded with people watching the game, so the service was slower than usual. I also tried the bread pudding; it was decent but not something I would order again.

Our waiter was attentive and provided excellent service. The food was enjoyable overall, but we had an issue with the medium steak we ordered, which came out undercooked in the middle. Let me start by saying any rating that I give is based on a subjective scale of value and quality. If prices are lower, the food and atmosphere don 't have to be as good to get a positive review. In this case, Mash and Marrow did not live up to its positive reviews. Prices are relatively high for what you get, and the atmosphere isn 't great. The staff was inattentive and seemed like they had better things to do than take care of guest. I had the crispy pork belly and there was nothing crispy about it. Chewy would be a better descriptor. Downtown Des Moines has a lot of great places to eat. Unfortunately, this is not one of them.

This is the most disappointing restaurant experience I've ever had in a Marriott hotel. The food was incredibly bland. I ordered the butternut squash soup of the day along with a salad, but instead received a salad without dressing and the incorrect soup. The servers lacked proper restaurant etiquette; you have to request a menu instead of them bringing one to you. They rudely interrupted me while I was ordering and still managed to mix up the food when serving it. I noticed them chatting in a corner, completely ignoring the guests at their tables. I'm writing this review from the perspective of a traveler who arrived at the downtown DSM Marriott around 9 PM on a Friday night. By the time I checked in and unpacked, it was almost 10:30 PM, and most nearby dining options were about to close. Fortunately, the hotel restaurant stays open until 1 AM! Being in a new city at night and still on Pacific Time, this was a real blessing. There was only one waitress managing both the tables and the bar, and despite her busy schedule, I received better service here than at other fully-staffed restaurants!
