"Montecristo absolutely deserves 5 stars--I think the lower rated reviews are just from people expecting Mexican-American food for Qdoba palates. This place is the real deal. I was so happy to see them reopen after initially being closed for COVID. If you like authentic Salvadoran food or Central American food generally, you will be very happy you ordered here. Amazing food made with love, and it's a great value for to-go. I especially recommend the Plato Montecristo or the Super Desayuno plate. Both are so delicious and MASSIVE--one of these plates plus a pupusa order or two is usually enough for two people, or one person and awesome leftovers."

The tacos were fantastic! The steak tacos were delicious, and the tortillas were of high quality, something that is not often found in Boston. The server was friendly and attentive.

The food was excellent, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the prices were very reasonable. The baleadas were delicious, and the tacos and papusas were also tasty, served with a fantastic salsa verde. I highly recommend this place and will definitely return in the future. View menu

Montecristo is such a great little family restaurant with Salvadoran specialties! You can get pupusas and tacos at a bunch of spots on this stretch of Broadway, but their loroco pupusas are especially great! I recommend trying some of their unique dishes like the garnachas (similar to sopes with beef) and the nuegados de yuca (sweet fried yuca dumplings) that you can't find anywhere else around here!

This was my second time ordering from this restaurant through Grubhub, and it was just as delicious as the first! I tried the beef soup and fried pork rinds. The soup was packed perfectly to avoid any spills, and the pork rinds were crispy with just the right amount of meat attached. Everything arrived piping hot! I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because of the rice. It was tasty as well, but I really wanted more to add to my soup!

"Great casual fine dining experience in a quiet Cambridge neighborhood.Took a visit here for dinner on a Saturday night. Its casual and rustic interior blended in perfectly with the atmosphere of the neighborhood, and our servers were very welcoming. We were initially planning to do the tasting menu, but the regular a la carte menu seemed too good to miss. We ended up ordering a bunch from their regular menu which turned out to be the right decision. The optional focaccia and rye bread with sweet scallion butter was an excellent start to the meal. From the appetizers, we had the kohlrabi cabbage, country terrine, and the scallop crudo. Topped with a mélange of earthy and floral ingredients, the scallop crudo was my favorite from the appetizers. Each bite was creamy and flavorful yet inexplicably light. Sprinkled with cranberries and spiced seeds, the kohlrabi and cabbage salad was also delightful. I especially loved the spiced seed toppings which added the right amount of nuttiness and crunchy texture.Saffron bigoli with leeks and clam sofrito had a slightly boring flavor profile, but the pappardelle verde with lamb sugo was phenomenal. I’m usually not a fan of mint toppings, but it managed to become a perfect complement to the lamb sugo. Subsequent 3 entrées were also amazing. Japanese-inspired soy marinated cod was perfectly tenderized, and its delicate texture paired well with the carrots and leeks soaked in dashi. Forking a concoction of chimichurri sauce, garlic purée, and grilled spring onion with tender pieces of beef teres major was also very satisfying. We finished off the meal with the carrot cake sundae and the lemon poppyseed cake. The dessert section lacked refined taste, but we still appreciated their effort to put something unique and interesting. Overall, a really enjoyable dinner experience at a reasonable price. Would definitely come back some day to try their tasting menu.Parking: Street parking available on Huron Ave Concord Ave"

"No soup/sandwich shop compares in terms of price per quality, portion size, and different options in the area. I only started ordering from here about 2 weeks ago and I’ve now had 7 different kinds of soups and 4 different kinds of sandwiches after the first order I started ordering two soups and a sandwich aka a soup to save for later because they’re just that good, every one of them. Price is so very reasonable and depending on which combo you get you can make out with a full sized sandwich and large sized homemade soup for $14.While it’s hard to recommend one thing over another in this circumstance since it’s all been great in their own ways, the Chicken Chowder is something I plan on getting a quart of next time it’s available. The Chicken Barley and Chicken Lemon Rice are ones I plan on getting quarts of in the future as well, and that’s not to discount the Chicken Noodle, Beef and Veg Noodle Stew, French Onion, and the current seasonal Chilled Gazpacha (which I probably wouldn’t have even tried it wasn’t from these guys . It’s all top quality. The Chicken Tarragon sandwich is my favorite in terms of sandwiches although it can’t combo with a soup as of now (please let us! . The best cheap soup combo sandwich is a tossup between the Cilantro Tuna and Ciabatta Sandwich, which are both incredible in their own ways. The only few drawbacks to this place are they don’t have every soup they make every day, are only open until 4PM, and aren’t open on the weekends. That said it’s worth it to plan accordingly for this. I never review anything but this place is worth it it’s the best if you’re a soup and sandwich person like I am."
