"Our experience at the restaurant was disappointing. When we arrived on a Sunday evening, the place was empty. Unfortunately, the bartender was incredibly drunk and made a mess of our drinks while adding some inappropriate comments. We requested to watch the Sunday night baseball game since we were the only customers, but instead of accommodating us, they asked why we didn’t want to watch the movie that was playing. Eventually, they put on a sports documentary because one of the servers was a fan. We had to ask four times for them to change the channel to the game. When one server took our order, another came back to ask us about it again. To make matters worse, one of the items we ordered had run out, even though it had been recommended by an employee. The servers seemed completely untrained. The manager did come over to apologize for the bartender's behavior and informed us that he had been fired, but by then it was too late. We ended up having to ask for a properly prepared bill and for our drinks to be remade. On a positive note, the food was surprisingly decent, much better than we expected given the poor service."

I had the chicken street tacos, and they were fantastic! I would definitely order them again. The salsa was a bit too runny for my taste, but it was still good overall. The live music added a nice touch to the experience. The only reason I'm not giving this place a 5-star rating is because there was a strange odor when we entered the building—it was off-putting enough that we almost turned around and left. However, the food was excellent otherwise!

During our recent visit to Nelda's, we quickly devoured two baskets of tasty tortilla chips along with three bowls of fantastic salsa. The Wife ordered the grilled fish tacos, while I opted for the beef fajita nachos. My nachos were wonderfully prepared, featuring an ample helping of all the ingredients. The Wife enjoyed her fish tacos, though she suggested that they would have been even better with some sort of sauce. Overall, we absolutely love Nelda's!

My husband and I decided to give this restaurant a shot since it was close by, though I have to admit I was a bit hesitant at first. I’m a big fan of Mexican cuisine, and I really didn’t want to risk being let down by a new spot. Fortunately, I’m pleased to report that my concerns were unfounded. The staff is incredibly friendly, the food is delicious, and the owners are very personable and involved. I've found my new favorite Mexican restaurant! I highly recommend giving it a try.

Our experience at the restaurant was quite disappointing. When we arrived on a Sunday evening, the place was nearly empty. Unfortunately, the busser was visibly intoxicated and somehow managed to ruin our drinks while making inappropriate comments. We requested to watch the Sunday night baseball game since we were the only customers, but the staff was more interested in playing a movie instead. The server, who seemed to have little training, insisted on putting on a sports documentary because they "really liked that." We had to ask repeatedly—four times—to get the game on TV. After taking our order, the server had to bring another staff member back to ask us about our order again. Later, we... View menu

"Affordable large helpings. Decent coffee. Family owned run.Skillet used to be in an old diner on the corner of Bowen Division. Definitely needed upgrades. Service was good, wait staff friendly. Weekends would be PACKED. Like line out the door. Also had an early morning group of people that would be there at 5 am and eat drink coffee for a couple of hours. Kind of place you liked because it was comfortable, but you wished it looked better.Fast forward to their new location up the street. Used to be an Italian restaurant definitely not what Skillet "feels "like. A much bigger restaurant, same menu. They open at 5 and serve comfort food basically. The servings are always huge and most of the time the food is good. I usually ask for my bacon to be extra crispy, but not burned. I have gotten every thing from still oinking to flat out burned. The cook knows he 's either putting semi raw or totally burned bacon on my plate and the waitresses can see what he puts on my plate not acceptable at all. Most of the time it 's fine. If you like firm scrambled eggs, tell them you want a hard scramble, but not brown. They do well on the over medium fried eggs most of the time (far better than Crackerbarrel). I don 't recommend the pancakes or waffles too dense not a good flavor. Omelets are massive!I usually eat breakfast there, so I have not tried any lunch items, except the BLT, which is good.Bottom line decent comfort food, reasonable prices, large portions.Wheelchair accessibility: Definitely wheelchair/handicap accessible."
