"Made the mistake of having the 7 course tasting menu for $150. When I initially saw it on the website it said 7 course tasting with wine pairings, I went back to look closer after dinner and in fine print says can be paired with wine so slightly vague. When we sat down the waiter informed us that the wine was not included with the tasting. I didn 't expect 7 glasses of wine or anything but my wife and I don 't have wine often and thought it would be nice to have it matched. The waiter said most people would just get a red and white bottle cause all their food pairs with either, I don 't know much about wine but I know specific dishes can work better with the right wines. This should have been the red flag but we rolled with it and had our normal craft beers cause after $150 didn 't want to have a huge drink bill. The first dish was tuna sashimi and a small tuna roll. It wasn 't bad but it went downhill from there. The mushroom bisque was rubbery mushrooms in cream, not the silky thickness of a bisque. Next was the scallop and goat cheese ravioli. My wife 's ravioli was extra crispy on the bottom, either undercooked or in a pan too long. They also add smoked wagyu brisket, one bite that was served cold(probably meant to be that way) and just tasted like roast beef. The 4th was the duck confit. It ended up being shredded duck that was just put back in a fryer? It was weird crispy and dry, served with a few sauces but then just pecans and sliced strawberries. The 5th was a petite filet with potatoes, they never asked how we liked it cooked. My wife prefers a little more towards medium and it came out rare. Then they served it with just boiled potatoes, no seasoning or butter. The next was a cheese plate. It came with 4 pieces of cheese, the issue was served with some slightly stale baguette and sliced strawberries. No jams, nuts, mustard, crackers, or stuff you expect on a cheese plate. It was all small plates and we shared the cheese and dessert. The amount of food was enough, the issues were the dishes were sloppy and didn 't make sense together. Now the as far as the seating. It is all outside due to the private jazz club. Didn 't know that going in and it was getting down to 50 degrees that night. All the tables were fighting for the few working heaters. Then near the end of the night 3 intoxicated guys came in and had a table near us to get pizza. One ended up throwing up in the bushes.I can name you a dozen restaurants that my wife and I have been to in northern Michigan that are fine dining and great tasting menus. It has never cost us over $400 for mediocre food at best that we received here. Also they take a $100 deposit to hold the reservation. It doesn 't come off your bill, they refunded it to you. Day 4 now and no refund it may end up costing me $500+. Skip if you are in the area and head to a Leeland or Suttons bay fine dining restaurant."

Outdoor seating only, because entire restaurant was reserved for a party. Only 2 chefs in the kitchen for ALL food prep. We were there for 3 hours. Food was cold, beer was warm. Never again

The food was overly salted, drinks were drowning in ice or served warm in a can, the pizza was burned, and filet overcooked. The server feigned interest but was more concerned with friends coming in and out

We did the 7 course chef’s tasting menu and omg. The food was phenomenal, the service was fantastic, and the chef was even able to accommodate my gluten allergy. It was an absolutely amazing dining experience that we wholeheartedly recommend View menu

If I could give 10 stars, I would. Food, atmosphere and staff were wonderful. My favorite restaurant ever. Five of us went and we had 2 pizzas, 1 order onion rings, 1 order of garlic baguettes, Morrell bisque and of course 1 order of cannolis for desert. Every bite was fantastic. I cannot wait to come up north again just to come here!!!! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner

Great spot with tasty food and a nice outdoor patio. New places don't often open in Leland so it's nice to see Nittolo's doing well. They have a good selection of pastas, pizzas, seafood, and other dishes as well as an extensive wine list and nice beer selection. I tried the Caesar salad and chicken parm and both were fantastic. A little more upscale than most places nearby except Riverside Inn, but still a welcomed option. View menu

This restaurant has a strange ambiance and everything is just a little off. We ordered a pepperoni pizza and the lobster bisque. There were so many bugs flying around and landing on our drinks that we just decided to take the food to go rather than eat it in the restaurant. The waiter apologized and was very nice about it. The pizza was decent but the lobster bisque was disgustingly over salted. I think it's over priced and probably won't go back.

We decided to eat at Nittolo's at the last minute and left satisfied with our experience. The wait time was reasonable, the waitress may have been an exchange student, and she was a delight to speak with. We received superb service. The environment was nice, sitting outside in a patio setting. I feel like we ordered the whole menu and desserts but still paid less for 6 people than we would have in any fancy restaurant in downtown TC for 2 people. We will definitely come back if in the area.

"On a brighter note, the next dish we tried was truly unforgettable. I often whip up soup from scratch using high-quality local meats and fresh herbs, but nothing prepared me for the outstanding white pumpkin soup at Wren. It may very well be the best first course I've ever had. To put it in perspective, I once drove six hours to Chicago just to dine at Galit, a Michelin-starred restaurant, and none of their starters could hold a candle to Wren's white pumpkin soup. The Lamb Ragout was also exceptional, boasting a rich sauce that paired beautifully with the tender, well-seasoned lamb. The filets were cooked perfectly to medium-rare and had been well-rested before serving. The poached duck egg on top was fantastic! The potatoes were decent, but I think some locally roasted root vegetables would have introduced more excitement and flavor. The scallops were another solid choice, though I prefer mine cooked medium. At Wren, they were closer to rare, which some might enjoy. The accompaniments for the scallops were excellent, and their quality was impressive. However, a more deliberate sear would have provided a firmer texture and a pleasant crunch to contrast with the herby drizzles and creamy dollops on the plate. The presentation was stunning and a joy to eat. The Whitefish was another standout. Our 11-year-old polished off his plate, remarking on the exquisite and refined lemony flavor of the fish—quite insightful for his age! He enjoyed it so much that he didn’t even share, so I can’t offer my own take on the flavors. As for the atmosphere, the space has great potential for a moodier and more memorable experience, given its small size. I hoped for a darker, more intriguing vibe, but the interior didn’t quite meet those expectations. The rich colors showcased on the website and the exterior of the building are much bolder than what the interior conveys. Despite the high-quality culinary offerings, I noticed a lack of truly robust starters—perhaps a tartare could be a nice addition. If we return, it will likely just be my husband and me, and we’ll choose the fixed-price five-course menu with wine. Looking back, I believe that’s the essence of Wren—because the couples at the bar enjoying the tasting menu seemed utterly content, swirling their glasses and smiling. I must admit, I felt a twinge of envy!"
