Pagliai's Pizza - Menu

The service was outstanding from the moment we stepped through the door! Our server, Kim, was fantastic! She quickly brought our drinks and food and ensured we had a wonderful experience. We will definitely be returning!

First time at Pagliai's Pizza. Our Daughter in-law said she use to go there all the time when she was growing up. We had the house special pizza, Greek salad, Cesar salad both big enough to share. Pizza had a thin cracker crust with fresh ingredients. Very good food will probably go back sometime.

I made the drive from Arizona just to eat here, and it’s truly the best pizza I’ve ever had. The homemade sausage is incredible, and the cheese is spot on. The sauce is just right as well. Pagliai's never disappoints and their remodel really brightened the restaurant. We were seated immediately and our waitress was friendly and efficient. Our pizza was perfect and the cheesebread is always a favorite. We were thanked not only by our waitress but by the busy kitchen staff as well. Worth the hour drive!

Hunting for the best pizza in Des Moines and this is in the top. I grew up to the Pagliai in Grinnell and it is still at the top. My favorite part about the dinning here is the window to see the pizza made. The kids just love it. When we were there, the staff was so nice to wave with the children while they watch. They loved it. Very recommended. Favourite pizza is sauerkraut, green olives, and their sausage made in the house. All right!

Pagliai's serves the best thin crust pizza and red sauce! Our personal favorite is the pesto pizza. The combination of feta cheese and pesto is simply amazing. Although this pizza wasn't listed on the menu, our server assured us it was still available to order. We forgot to mention that it comes with black olives, which we hadn't decided on, but we won't forget that next time. And definitely don’t overlook the homemade ranch—it’s incredible! View menu

Pagliai's is likely my favorite pizza spot in the Johnston/Urbandale area. Their thin crust is what I've always considered to be the standard for pizza. It's not excessively thin, but it's also not as thick as a loaf of bread. The sauce and toppings are fantastic too. In fact, if I were to rate Pagliai's solely on the quality of their pizza, I would easily give them a five-star rating. My only complaint about Pagliai's is their delivery service. There always seems to be an issue—either a side item is forgotten, or the order is incorrect.

The restaurant was not the most accommodating. When we were being seated, we were taken to a table with chairs, despite several booths being available. We asked if we could have one of the booths instead. The host seemed uncertain about whether that would be possible, but after offering to wait for one to be cleaned, they managed to seat us in a booth. When it was time to order, my sister wanted to get a 12-inch pan pizza but was informed that the smallest size available was 14 inches. That was fine. My other sister then inquired if they...

The delivery was prompt, and the driver looked happy to be working, which was a nice change from some other delivery experiences I've had. My order was correct, and I appreciated that I could get half of each topping. The pizza arrived hot, and compared to many other places I've tried, it tasted quite good. I opted for the pan crust, which had just the right amount of dough. However, the toppings could have been spread a bit more evenly, and there was a slightly different flavor to the pizza than I'm used to.
