"I haven't been back to Lumberton in years, and everywhere I went for BBQ was closed until someone reminded me of Pauline's. I remembered it fondly. They serve great Eastern-style BBQ, complemented by delicious Calabash-style seafood. Since moving west, I've really missed good Eastern BBQ, and this place definitely delivered. The grill is impressive, and the sides were excellent. The sweet potatoes were particularly tasty. The service was friendly, too. Don’t expect anything fancy, but you definitely won’t leave hungry. It's a great spot for a hearty meal with welcoming service."

Excellent bar-b-que. And my sandwich was hit and very tasty. The slaw was a very accompanement. Only widow service but if they aren't too busy they'll serve your meal or sandwich. I ready for another.

Great food at great prices. Best BBQ in town. If you haven't, you gotta try the What-a-burger, and if you can even find any anywhere else, you'll find no better fried gizzards. Always been family run and owned. There's a reason it has been here forever.

Authentic North Carolina barbecue just like Grandma Pauline used to make! Be sure to try Sherry's special sauce; people often take a quart home with them! They also offer lemonade, tea, and unsweetened tea because they understand that sweet tea is a given! View menu

The restaurant was clean, and the food was quite good. I had a bit of trouble figuring out what kind of meat was served on the BBQ plate. Other than that, it was a pleasant experience. The servers could be a bit more polished in appearance, but I would definitely return.

A tale of two ratings: 5 for the food: Incredibly good barbecue, and I want more of it right now. 2 for the service at best: Took literally 30 minutes to get our food, after we 'd been told 15. And when I went up to check on it, the lady snapped at me in a way I wouldn 't think someone with a job would ever dare to act. She literally said Did you not hear what I just said to those people?! No, I didn 't, or I wouldn 't have asked.
