"I agree with other ratings on here. The food was average but the service was subpar and if you're trying to avoid plastic (like I am) don't go here because they use plastic take away containers even for dine in. The man behind the counter was decent enough to us but a woman wanted to put some of her food in a cardboard box that was just sitting on a shelf in the dining area and even though she was a paying customer he refused to let her take a tiny cardboard box. Not sure why..."

I'll always come here for their mac salad, it's different. Creamy and sweet pairs perfectly with their savory chicken teriyaki!

The Curry Bowl is amazing! The portion size is a bit too generous though. Make sure to bring your appetite and maybe some extra room for a food coma afterward! View menu

The food is delicious and the price is reasonable. No five stars since the tall fat kid who took my orders on the phone and give me my food sucks and rude. I'll visit again, but I don't want to deal with him ever!

I love the Hawaiian bowl and order it often, especially because it's so affordable. I use it for meal prep for work, packing it in my Tupperware. The sauce is fantastic—better than any local teriyaki places. The drive to get it is definitely worth it!

I ordered the Tempura, which was advertised as coming with three prawns and vegetables. However, what I received were soggy batter hush puppies with just a few tiny bits of green and orange. There were no vegetables at all, and I only got two prawns. I've never encountered such a disappointing imitation before! View menu

Not impressed. The kid who took my order was very friendly and polite. However, the food was not good at all. Ordered the yakisoba noodles with chicken. The noodles reminded me of top ramen and were completely saturated with sauce and the chicken was ok. As for any veggies, there was a little cabbage and carrots mixed in and a few pieces of raw broccoli on top. Wouldn't recommend. Should have gone down the street to Panda Express.

Like going for dinner at your Japanese family or friend's house, the simple food at this restaurant is so fresh, and so delicious, you'll come back again and again. Try the tempura for a taste of what food deep fried in clean, fresh oil should taste like, with no hint of grease and no off putting aftertaste. The neighborhood has gone to ruin, but the restaurant hangs on , to my relief. Don't know where I would go to be fed properly if this place was lost!

"Boxcar Pizza does creative all vegan pizza done Detroit style. I am from NY and had plenty of pizza there in the day before I was vegan. Pizza and NY are synonymous. I would love to check out Screamer's Pizza in NY next time I am there.I have only had Detroit Pizza one other time and happened to be vegan. It was alright when I had it then. I have been to Detroit where the talented rapper Eminem is from. Detroit is where the pinball like running back legend Detroit Lion Barry Sanders played. Detroit is where I was in awe when I saw the Diego Rivera murals there. Detroit isn't known for it's pizza yet lately Detroit pizza seems to be getting popular.Detroit Pizza is like a cross between Sicilian and Chicago deep dish yet comes in a square with four slices. Boxcar Pizza was named best vegan pizza this past year in Veg News magazine so had great expectations coming here. Boxcar Pizza delivered! I went with the Viktor Vaughn pizza. The pizza came with mozzarella, cheddar, kale, red onions, ricotta, mama lil's peppers, and pesto. I got it with a side of red sauce for dipping which I recommend. The pizza was very tasty. Plenty of flavor. It was a bit rich and filling for plenty of vegan cheese was used. Perhaps a touch less vegan cheese and other pizza pies with more veggies would be nice. I like that this pizza had plenty of veggies on it. I just got this and was able to eat it all. Each pizza serves one to two depending on your appetite. If you come with a friend or spouse might be good to split one and order a Kale Caesar salad to share.Viktor Vaughn is the real name of Dr. Doom who happens to be the arch enemy of the Fantastic Four in the Marvel Comics. Viktor Vaughn is also a British rapper. There are many different kinds of pizza here and am so happy that a vegan pizza place delivers tasty vegan pizza. I hope they open up branches in other cities.Recommended!"
