"this is without argument the best restaurant in fairfield, and the best Indian restaurant in connecticut. based on food quality alone, the restaurant gets 6 stars of 5. there is no competition for the taste that the cook produce, and if they want a certain taste that is not on the menu, they will not only make it for them, but they will make them a world class dish without prior preparation of their specific choice of taste. they are expert. Moreover, the portion sizes are absolutely massif, while the prices are the same as those of any other restaurant that has normal portion sizes and average food quality. the service is the highlight of taj. for example are alex and sumesh, which are very talented chefs/servers, two of the most authentic people I have ever met. each question was immediately looked out, and when it came up that it was the birthday of my mother, they immediately came with an authentic vegetable cake (my mother is a vegetarian) free, with a candle in it, and sang happy birthday. after a nice talk with them, Alex has given up our food to take home and since the portions are so large, it will eat delicious in the refrigerator for days. Moreover, they offer take-out and delivery and the large portion sizes, great prices and authentic and top-notch aroma do not change at least."

"The food and service were truly exceptional! I ordered Layla's shawarma platter, along with a small beet salad, a small tabbouleh, and some baklava. Every dish was delicious, and the meat was generously served on a bed of lentils and rice. I was genuinely impressed by the quality; this meal could easily feed three people. The server at the counter was extremely friendly, which is a rarity these days. I highly recommend this restaurant!"

"I so want to give this place 5 stars as service, ambiance, food presentation, taste, texture price, etc exceeded all expectations, however, I will visit again to ensure a consistent dining and culinary experience. Colorful, clean and most inviting space. I loved the colored glass and plates on the tables. The margaritas were fantastic and the in house wine was so good. Thursday nights all house drinks are the same price as Happy Hour prices. Excellent! Service was outstanding. Our waiter was kind and patient with our menu questions. We never felt pressured or rushed and we were fully able to take our time enjoying our wonderful dishes. before our dishes arrived, we were given a delicious roll with dipping sauce which was magnificent. Ordered: Ostras con Motongo an incredible dish so beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Arepas De Cardo gorgeous presentation and wonderful fusion of flavors and textures Salmon con Panela excellent execution of freshness and flavor combinations Tacos were amazing! We oohed and ahhed and sighed with delight with each bite. Ecstasy. Such a low key, lovely evening with superbly cooked dishes we took time to savour. Generous portions, fair prices, clean restrooms, adjacent parking area and off street parking available. I highly recommend this establishment and most surely will return often!"

"I've visited many pizzerias over the years, but this one truly stands out—it's even better than Nauti Dellphin, Sally's, and others. It's quickly become one of my favorite pizza places, and the prices are very reasonable. The owner is wonderful; on my first visit, he kindly offered me a complimentary Turkish pizza and even gave me a discount. His whole family is amazing, including his brother who runs Sammy's Pizza. They really make the best pizza around. I'll definitely be ordering from here again!"

"Great food! So many options for all of the people at our tables different likes. We all ordered very separate meals and made it known we were not sharing. But the server only put in some of the food at a time. So half the table got all their food and the other half just sat and waited for they food. Once the others were done the second round came out. All the food was very good tho!! Thought it was weird that the server never came over and asked if we wanted more drinks. Usually they want to run up the tab on drinks but we were never asked if we wanted anything else so we only got one round."
