"I can definitively say that the dining experience at Baracoa is one of the best I have ever experienced. Our server Gabi greeted my fiancé and I promptly with waters and suggestions about the menu, and checked on us frequently throughout the night. She was even so thoughtful as to ask if we wanted to take a picture of one of our drinks before she removed the smoking lid, how considerate! I personally tend to lean towards smaller portions, and when our food was brought to us, I thought there was no way I’d be able to finish it. I almost cleared my plate. Absolutely astonishing flavors. The Cuban coffee they deliver on to the MAX as well, stunning even the most discerning of coffee aficionados. All in all an incredible experience, thank you so much to Gabriella and the rest of the Baracoa team for an incredible night!!"

"Shogun Sushi is a small restaurant that you could be completely forgiven for missing as you drive past on an unlit evening. I'd encourage you not to do so. This quiet, clean, unrushed and utterly unpretentious establishment has seemingly one focus, and that is the quality of the sushi they prepare. I enjoyed a spicy tuna roll that was spot on in its subtlety and focus on the flavor of the tuna, something only done at restaurants not motivated to hide their lesser quality ingredients with an overabundance of heat. Likewise the salmon roll with scallop was a subtle and well-integrated dish, made carefully, and presented well. My appetite only permitted me to try the two rolls, but I'm now eager to go back with friends. There are many paths to disappointment and regret whilst attempting sushi in the AV. You may spend just a bit more here, but you will feel better about yourself (and likely just feel better) after you dine here. "Very quiet when we walked in, host thought we were part of a private party so didn't seat us until we inquired. We were able to sit outside which was really nice. The decor is dated and minimal inside, outside is basic patio tables, but the view is pretty (overlooks the golf course). Ordered the Caprese press which was tasty and priced decently. The pasta salad that came with it was also really good. 4 stars for food! I'm giving 3 stars overall because of the service, however. Two men started smoking cigars on the patio right after we were sat. First off, it's illegal (as the sign posted above the door stated). Second, we had a child with us and the smell was so bad we all got headaches. We went inside and asked the manager if they could do something. She assured us she would. 15 minutes go by and the men are still puffing away, no manager in sight (I had a clear view and since there were so few people I know they didn't come out). We then asked the waiter, and he said his hands were tied. He wasn't allowed to say anything. The men finally finished up and left after we were mostly done with our food. Definitely put a damper on our lunch. Hoping the staff grows a backbone in the future."

"Absolutely amazing! When we first arrived, we weren't sure about the location since you enter through an alley. To our surprise, it was bustling on a weekday. We placed a to-go order, and wow, everything was incredibly delicious! The pad Thai was fantastic, and the Panang curry with chicken was simply divine. It's not the cheapest option, but the freshness and homemade quality make it worth it. We will definitely be coming back!"

"If I could give this place a 10-star rating, I would! I tried the plant-based fish and chips, as well as the plant-based shrimp. The shrimp was especially good, but the fish and chips were absolutely fantastic! It tastes even better than I remember fish tasting. And all at a great price of $11 per meal. If you live in the Antelope Valley, skip your dinner plans and head to California Fish Grill to pick up their plant-based options. If you don't feel like going out, you can also find them on DoorDash."
