The chateau is out of this world. Hands down best meat I've had in the area. Atmosphere is kind of like the dumpy diner on the corner but I'm there for the food and it's wonderful.

I can't say enough good things about this place from the ambiance, to the staff, to the food, to the drinks! Everything is executed with such care and hospitality. I don’t visit as often as I’d like since it’s a bit of a drive for me, but every time I try another steakhouse, I can't help but compare it to The Bears', and it just doesn't measure up. No matter how good the food is elsewhere, I always end up feeling disappointed after dining at other places. The Bears' is truly exceptional!"

I have to say tonight was an experience! From the time we walked through the front door with Bob greeting us to John giving us an evening of laughs along with the kindness of everyone there. They did not leave any stone unturned with the fresh, flavorful and homemade desserts. They have the best Tiramisu and Cream pies we ever had. This is our new favorite spot. Absolutely amazing! The food was really made with great care. Every detail on the plate was perfect. I have never left so full in my life. I could not stop eating. Even when we got to dessert the options were so amazing I had to try a bite of everything. Great spot for a couples dinner or family celebration. Thank you John for that amazing service. My wife and I spent our 43rd Wedding Anniversary enjoying a wonderful meal at the Bears Restaurant. The service and servings did not disappoint. We have been loyal patrons for much of our married life. Chianti, a rich and flavorful beef soup followed up with monster shrimp cocktails. The best was yet to come. Perfectly prepared and flavorful Prime Rib. Our waiter John was a delight and during dinner his brother Chef Robert came out to visit guests in the house. A truly delightful evening.

I consider myself an authority on good steak and this place is the best in the region hands down. Large pieces usually make me think that the kitchen is trying to balance a lack somewhere else, but not with The Bears. A delmonico the size of a porterhouse and cooked to perfection; Prime rib, which looks like it had been cut from a brontosaur, but is so delicate, you can cut it with your fork, not too fat or comminuted in any way. Prices are exactly where they should be for food of this quality. Small footprints (the dinning room seats ~30) and extremely personal service with a highly knowledgeable waiter.

Plan Ahead: Reservations are a must, and it's wise to book early. The restaurant only operates a few days a week, and spots fill up quickly. This past February, I called to secure a table for Valentine's Day. When I finally reached someone, they were a bit rude, stating they didn't want to open because Valentine’s Day fell on a Tuesday. The decor is quite lacking, as many others have pointed out; it feels outdated. However, the food is fantastic. The steaks are cooked to perfection, and the mashed potatoes are simply delightful.
