"My recent visit to the restaurant was disappointing, and as a result, I don't think I will be returning. When our main courses arrived, it seemed like the food had been sitting out for a while as it was semi-cold and had a lumpy, crusty consistency. Despite one of the entrees being touted as the best lasagna, it simply tasted like dry pasta with minimal filling. When we brought this up to the server, he claimed it was his "style" of lasagna and offered to bring more sauce, which should have been between the layers of pasta. We had to ask another staff member if the dish was prepared correctly, and ultimately it was replaced with something else. On top of this, my wine glass remained empty on the table for quite some time despite multiple servers passing by, and I had to request a refill from a different server. By the time my glass was empty again, I decided not to bother asking for another refill. Overall, my experience at the restaurant was disappointing and not up to par with the reputation of Boise."

We had the Cote de Beouf-$145.00 for 2. The meat was fantastic!! Great flavor, cooked perfect $10.00 more than what we were told but it was delicious Creamed spinach

A MUST VISIT! We have been to The Lively twice in the past month, once for lunch and once for dinner. The food, service and ambiance can’t be beat. We will be back soon!

went for a Valentine's Day dinner. our food was incredible and the service was wonderful. the manager personally came to our table and made us feel warm and special. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a perfect evening.

The managers and boss were incredibly accommodating! They were able to incorporate vegan options into the menu. We tried the pumpkin soup, fresh rigatoni, and zucchini risotto and everything was fantastic. The bar/lounge was a great spot for drinks as well. They advised us to inform them in advance about our vegan diet when making a reservation so they could plan accordingly, which was a nice touch.

The menu is fantastic! You can’t go wrong with anything you order. A large wine list and handcrafted cocktails are a great start for any occasion. The selection of appetizers is modern and exciting, everything is delicious! For the entree, house made pasta and perfectly cooked wagyu makes the decision difficult but either way you make the right choice. Overall, a great dining experience and by far my favorite restaurant in Boise. View menu

The Lively, while visually unique and splendid—leaning toward the eclectic and abstract expressionist—flopped a bit when it came to expedience of service and course-schedule, and our third course was an extreme disappointment, due to a last-minute change of course and a total lack of flavor—namely salt and garlic. Would recommend as an experience for the visual senses, but for quality of food and timeliness of service, The Lively was a bit of a snore.
