"In times past the Stingray use to be the bomb, but due to new management this once quaint and delicious restaurant immediately was turned into one of the WORST! and I repeat worst seafood restaurants in New Bern. This owner is very money hungry and the waitresses are rude and unprofessional un-couth, the food was terrible. We ordered the fried flounder and okra and fries, and the whole meal was terrible. The fish was under cooked the fried okra was tasteless and under cooked, the fries were like fried cardboard, and then the manager had the nerve to try to make me pay for 1 meal that we didn't eat. this guy is shysty and money hungry and seems to be a slum restaurant lord. He's buying up all of Newbern and quality is not his thing. This restaurant has no business being open. Stay away from this place the food has gone all the way down.. Once you order if you don't like your food because it was not prepared properly they will make you pay regardless if you ate or not and they wont replace it. I've never seen this behavior before. this restaurant won't last with this behavior. I wouldn't given this a 1 if it didn't make me. Unsatisfied customer. Will never return. Sad for New Bern."

Got live crabs and fresh fish. Both were good. Now they have free fish sandwiches on Wednesday. Yes FREE. What a nice thing to do for the community. Buy the way it's good too

I just had the worst flounder dinner I've ever experienced. It was full of bones, which is surprising since flounder isn't supposed to have them. The potato salad and coleslaw were also the worst I've ever tasted. Sting Ray used to be a good restaurant, but not anymore. I won’t be returning.

Dont go there. Out of many items on menu. Server was new and needed training or help from an experienced server. Cheap plastic forks for dinnerware. Asked about market price for item and told 5 dollars over marked specials. Charged for strerafoam cup that tap water came in. Oyster stew was terrible. Shrimp was served in oily margarine. Owner was rude and catered to a local couple offering items not on the menu and not giving us alternate choices for the sold out items that we wanted.

I have eaten at this family-owned restaurant twice while on vacation. Who can go to the coast and only eat salad? I met the owner, his daughter, and son-in-law. From the moment we were greeted, seated, and served, I could tell it was a family-run establishment. We indulged in all things fried, but they also offer fresh grilled or steamed fish.
