"at this Coralville location when it was nostalgia from the days of life in iowa city. two red flags directly from the road: 1. plants without flowers, but filled with smashed beer cans and müll. 2. went into the restaurant and the whole place had sticky floors throughout. to run on the floor u gave this suction sound. nasty. I made the bad choice, not just to go. it's years ago! So I give him a chance. menu very high prices. that's not bad when you eat well, but in this case it's not. I ordered the low carb cellar. (yes, no wings, very bad decision of me as I would pay 4 later) I get the food and there is a small chicken breast sitting on the top of the dead lettuce with black edges. not appealing. jump over the mull when you look like that. the tiny chicken breast was kind of dry, but not too bad, but no season. I asked for a buffalo sauce that made it better. veggies were good and not overcooked. that's positiw. I'm digging into the cabin cheese and it's mad. there was another bite to confirm, yes, madness. skip. bad meal. now for something good. waitress was good and attentive. she removed the bad meal from my bill, which was estimated. it wasn't her fault that eating was bad. I really wanted to like this place and bring back the nostalgic feeling, how good it was once, but there are some problems here. lack of cleanliness and food quality."

This place is going downhill: everything was limp, cold, and dry. Cottage cheese was sour and bad.

Host was very gracious and cleared a booth for us. However, we were never offered a menu. Looked it up on phone. Took over 15 minutes for waitress who had very few customers. She took another 15 minutes to come take putt order and we had to flag her. Food came but was cold. View menu

We were there for 3 hours. We didn't complain at all, the kid seemed overwhelmed and forgot our food (which was barely warm) and we had to find another employee to help us after waiting an hour for our check. Cool place and fun atmosphere, but plan on staying awhile on a Saturday night.

Service started out a little rocky, waited 30 mins for a server. Finally went to the bar to get our own drinks. The bartender found a waitress for us and after that everything was great. Wonderful waitress, food was delicious, great portions and fun atmosphere. I will definitely go back.

I ordered maple-Bbq wings and they brought me out hot wings, sent them back to get my maple-Bbq, they come back with the same hot sauce I sent back. how the annoying is: finally the third time I got my maple-Bbq wings. but now I'm over the toilet that robs me the brain. no fun time, but I liked the real sunshades they had outside. will probably go back. The wings were over cooked and hard. Haven't been here in years and was super excited to come back but ended in disappoinment. The hostess said she didn't have any tables open and would need to sit at the bar. I explained I prefer a table and asked the wait.. she said there isn't a wait but I just don't want to overwork the waiters.. unfortunately I wont be back.

that used to be one of my favorite places to go in town. I wasn't here in 2 or 3 years and just had the same menu I ordered for 15 years. at first bite, something seemed off. with more accurate inspection everything had changed on the plate. the chicken sandwich has changed from a baked piece of real chicken and bun to a processed meat dog and a mischievous, strange tasting whole weizen beans. then the shoe-running pommes, which was here earlier a delicious stitching clip, were now changed in their cut all the diner packed frozen pommes. the waitress told me they had changed them recently. as beautiful as I can say, this place went from one of my favorite dinners in the opposite to something...

"As soon as we stepped in, Darren greeted us with super energy. He promptly took our drink orders. The atmosphere felt cozy, and while the fans were running, it seemed like the air conditioning wasn't on—still, we felt comfortable thanks to the fans, although they could use a good cleaning. Darren quickly took our food order, and we couldn't help but marvel at his upbeat demeanor despite the heat. While we waited, we concluded that Stella's was indeed a hidden gem—a place that everyone should be aware of. We decided to start with the "Cheese Eaters" topped with bacon. The fries were hand-cut and arrived loaded with cheese and bacon, resembling a bacon explosion on the plate. They were delicious, though we thought a second frying might make them a bit crispier. Our group devoured them within no time. We ordered three different burgers: the Tingley, which featured green chili, pepper jack cheese, and guacamole; the Beaconsfield, topped with bacon, cheddar cheese, and what we believed to be homemade BBQ sauce; and the Colo, which was a mix of American and Swiss cheese on rye with grilled onions. We opted for raw onions for an extra crunch. All three burgers arrived hot at the same time, accompanied by seasoned hand-cut fries. The Tingley was served open-faced, allowing us to see the guacamole and green chili. The first bite was a delightful mix of cool and spicy flavors— the green chili, guacamole, and pepper jack created a perfect balance of savory heat that complemented the bun's texture. The Beaconsfield was also presented open-faced, showcasing the melted cheddar cheese. The bacon and BBQ sauce promised a juicy burger, but sadly, it didn’t quite deliver the excitement for burger lovers. Although the BBQ sauce was tasty, it felt like any other BBQ burger you could find elsewhere. We were hoping for something more unique. However, even this wasn't enough to deter us from returning. Our last burger was the Colo on rye, topped with melted American and Swiss cheese, and we chose to add raw onions for crunch. We appreciated the combination of raw onions, tomatoes, pickles, and the two cheeses, which created a delightful explosion of flavors with the rye bread enhancing each bite. Our only issue was keeping it all together, but it was still a lovely burger. Despite some minor challenges, we truly enjoyed our time at Stella's, and it certainly won't be our last visit. I'm looking forward to trying their black bean burgers and some of the special house drinks. The service was excellent, even without air conditioning; Darren's enthusiasm never wavered. I highly recommend checking out this little spot just around the corner from Kinnick Stadium."
