"We've heard about Gonzales Burger since our first visit to the RGV, but that was back in May when the place closes down after the Winter Texas season, so we weren't able to try it then. It was surprising to pull up to a non descript building with the only indication that there was a business of any sort located there being the open/closed sign hanging on the door and a few cars parked in front. They are not open after about 2 or whenever the fresh ground beef runs out. There were 4 5 people behind the open counter waiting on customers and then making the food but never saw any of them move out to the dining room to wipe down a table or two, all of which were dirty and sticky. There is a roll of paper towels on each table one was empty) and rather than go to the restroom to wet a towel down, used a bit of my $2 bottle of water to at least wipe a clean spot down for us. There is no decor Costco tables, folding chairs, and a few taxidermy heads hanging on the walls which is beneficial to them, not having to spend money on extraneous expenses, but please try to clean tables or provide cleaning supplies so your customers can clean it for you. The hamburger is freshly ground, and the patties are absolutely huge, but you pay for them! We got 1 hamburger, 1 bacon cheeseburger, an order of fries onion rings $10 for 7 rings and a handful of fries), and the $2 bottle of water. Our bill was $38.90. We've now experienced Gonzales Burgers and will most likely never go back. They've established a reputation that works for them, but for us, the novelty wore off fast. Too many other places to try!"

"Additionally, there were flies buzzing around, and the place had an unsettling odor. I ordered a platter that included fried shrimp, two pieces of fish, a salad, fries, and fried calamari, but it was all very disappointing. There were no corn tortillas to accompany the fried fish, which was so greasy that oil was oozing out. The salad consisted of little more than two pieces of lettuce that had been chopped up. The calamari was poorly cooked, looking more like charcoal; it was quite burnt. The shrimp were decent, at least. My wife ordered a brisket burger, but she soon discovered that the brisket was starting to spoil. The smell was terrible and made me very wary about eating anything there. I would advise caution before choosing to dine here!"

"I usually go to a different Starbucks, but my plans this morning changed, so I stopped by the one in Weslaco. When I entered the store, no one said hi, and when I went to the restroom, it was filthy. When I went to order my drink, the lady at the register gave me a look like she hated her job and didn’t say hi. She just took my order and didn’t even say thank you or anything, lol. I saw that she didn’t have her name tag. I’m used to going to Starbucks, where the employees say hi and make you feel welcome. Typically, the Weslaco location is friendly, but maybe things have changed."

"In the past I have always ordered the food to go and it's always great!! This past Friday my husband and I went to eat in the restaurant and had a very nice experience. The food and service were great. We got chicken pho and beef pho and egg rolls. All super delicious. I really like how I can choose from different sized pho bowls in the restaurant. Will definitely be going back again. My husband asked why don't we just get pho from here in Harlingen (where we live) And I told him because it's not the same at all Only Le Pho House makes the pho I like I will keep driving to Weslaco for Pho. But it would be great if one were to open in Harlingen."
