"The little bowl of soup was excessively salty, lacking any other flavors. My husband’s meal was similarly disappointing; although it looked nice, the shrimp was overcooked and tough to chew—more like chewing bubblegum than enjoying a meal. The fried rice was cold, and the spring roll was only lukewarm. The tempura vegetables were acceptable, but the overall experience left much to be desired. I had the tataki yellowtail as an appetizer, but it was poorly prepared and over-seasoned with sauce—unfortunately, I didn't manage to take a photo of it. I really wished I had known about the poor quality before choosing this restaurant to celebrate our 20th anniversary. We were very disappointed. To make things worse, they only offered us a 10% discount despite hardly eating any of our meals. I only had a few of the tempura vegetables from my husband's plate. We will not be returning. We did give our waitress a $15 tip, as the issues with scheduling and cooking weren’t her fault. The Yamato in Springfield, Ohio, is fantastic, but this location did not meet our expectations at all."

I got three pieces of zucchini in a $12 meal but other than that it was ok. The Princeton location doesn’t look as nice but the food is definitely better

An excellent place for sushi! My Fiancé and I come here once a month! We order different sushi rolls each time so we can each one day try every roll! I highly recommend Yamato!

Overall, the food was quite enjoyable. However, it would be beneficial if they offered more detailed descriptions of certain dishes for those unfamiliar with them. Nevertheless, both the food and the service were outstanding.

This restaurant deserves a perfect 5-star rating! The food is outstanding, and it’s hard to express just how delicious it is. The staff is exceptionally nice and welcoming. I wish I could enjoy their chicken soup every day! The sashimi portions are generous as well. View menu

Pretty decent restaurant for not having any real competition or alternatives in the area for Asian food. It’s unfair to base the quality of food by comparison to a big city. With that being said, I’ve eaten at Japanese restaurants all over the world,including Japan...and obviously, this doesn’t stack up. The food was above average for the area, but below average as acomparison. Average food I’m 100% okay with. What bugged me was that I was only barely diving into my entree when my checkwas brought to me. Maybe I wanted to spend more money...desert, a after dinner drink...whatever. But they’ll neverknow...because my check was brought to me 30 minutes too early

It's not really fair to judge the quality of the food by comparing it to restaurants in larger cities. That said, I've dined at Japanese restaurants all over the world, including in Japan, and this place doesn't quite measure up. What really annoyed me was that I barely started my entree when the check was presented to me.
