"last evening in Sicily before returning home and last opportunity to get the fish crudités, which we had not been able to find so far. the stage is agrigento, obligatory to try before unfortunately the restaurant was closed due to the inability of the open space in front (return). a shop next to me recommends krokos not far away. the first visual impact is not dazzling, but they have the dish that I look for, and book. the crudités arrive in a reasonable time, rare in the relaxed Sicilian. oysters, white and red shrimps, scampi, and in the center a sumptuous dadolat (called tartare would be reduced) of tuna. a delight! The price? Ssssht, find out yourself! as second: tuna with balsamic (exquisite and grilled shrimp and fish (good, not exceptional, a little dry). even these arrived with little wait. a small misunderstanding about the zibibbo (perhaps good) at the end of the dinner was resolved satisfactorily. half bottles of wine available. Young, courteous and attentive staff. is located along the Athenaeum."

"The waitress/assistant was very impolite. We asked for the table and went to invite our friends (which were like 10 meters away) and when we came back she started to shout on us in italian making all the people staring at us. It was very rude, because she understood we were tourists, but she was just making fun of us in front of all restaurant. The worst experience during all the holidays. I'm sorry there is no zero for review."

"A restaurant with a great view of the temples and Agrigento in the background. That's all I can say about it. Tourist food. I had Pizza Diavolo in northern Italy. If I remember correctly, they had cheese in them. This is only tomato sauce with some extremely salty capers and some salami. I had to ask for comminuted paprika to make it sharp. The Zuppa di Cozze was not impressive at all. I had many in other restaurants and they all have white wine sauce and here is sweet tomato sauce. What about the sugar? The handle I have with some Sicilian restaurants is that they add sugar to their tomato sauce to cut on the sours that deform the original taste. The lower line is the food here is not great. I guess you pay for the view. If you want a glass of wine or beer with a pizza (not pizza diavolo) and a view. You can come here. I wouldn't order the appetizers or dishes. "I am not usually one for writing reviews but the following needs to be said. We booked based on the reviews here on Trip Advisor and were so disappointed that we left after the anti pasti. The dining room had all the atmosphere of a school dining room, even the distant temples could not compensate. The service was sub standard from outset and only deteriorated. This is not a restaurant it is a hotel dining room and not even a very stylish one. The wine list had so many options crossed out that it looked as if they hadn’t restocked in a while. Despite asking recommendations the staff only offered the white they had open so I decided not to go with a bottle. The food was not cheap but based on reviews I expected good things and being in sight of the sea I went with the seafood anti pasti to be followed by tuna. The seafood was poor, not fresh and the prawns were so far gone they had the texture of paste. As a result of the quality of the food on top of the poor room and poor service we left the table and went to reception to register our dissatisfaction. Even after such feedback they still charged for what we had had although with a discount. Now, writing this within half an hour of leaving, I have already developed stomach cramps and sweats. I can tell I have an evening of unpleasantness ahead… the classic dodgy prawn! This is not the experience I expected from the Academy of Good Taste and cannot recommend it in any way. If in search of a good restaurant the advice from this trip keep scrolling!"

"I stayed in this farm together with my family on weekends. the property is very welcoming and is located a stone's throw from the valley of the temples and Agrigento. The rooms are spacious, clean and in their simplicity, very comfortable. plentiful breakfast and superlative restaurant. great and delicious food. vote 10 to the staff, both to the lady who welcomed us in the morning for breakfast, and to the waiters of the restaurant, nice and prepared. I have taken advantage of the holiday bonus for this stay but surely there will be other opportunities to return, considered the welcome also by the owner of the property."

"Excellent trattoria, the food is outstanding, definitely a “must visit” if you’re around the area. Service was casual, they let the dishes do the talking. It took a while to order drinks, and the wine menu wasn’t immediately given, so when I eventually decided what to drink they didn’t have the bottle, etc etc. This is more my problem than the restaurants, I’ll know for next time! However! I noticed that nobody had the wine menu, so I think perhaps ordering is more commonly based on pairing recommendations from the waiting staff, than actually choosing yourself. The food is outstanding and I think the price is really honest. The outdoor terrace area is beautiful too, it’s just a great place."

"I love the fact that there are vegan items on their menu, but it could have been more thoughtfull. It tasted like a hashbrown with some corn on a bun. Not tasty at all. It is filling. I did not see the polenta or tofu on the menu, which was mentioned in earlier reviews. It is sad that take away packages are used inside the restaurant, since the standard and inside do not look like a typical fastfood restaurant. The drinks were fine. "One of the best pizzas (although it's a pinsa) I've ever eaten!! My sister and I wanted to try two flavors: Bufalina with Burrata, San Marzano tomato, fior di latte, Crudo di Parma 24 months, Pizzutello Semisecco tomato and Green Gold with Mortadella Bologna Dop, pistachio pesto, stracciatella and pink peppercorns. plentiful ingredients and above all quality, all in a frame of kindness and courtesy by the staff. Given the honest prices (I repeat) quality of the ingredients and the goodness of the pines, waiting times in the norm, indeed reduced considering it was a Saturday evening. Abbiamo preso un hamburger e un pane casereccio con rucola, bufala, noci e miele. Buona anche la birra artigianale. I prodotti siciliani sono come un panino normale, quindi attenzione; noi l'abbiamo preso pensando fosse una specie di antipasto, anche per il prezzo (2/3 euro per pane palermitano o pane con panelle) e invece è arrivato un vero e proprio panino grande!"

"I could not navigate the rain in this hilly town so went to local place. Wow. Special of the day mussel soup. A generous portion of mussels in highly flavorful broth. Lovely people run it with baby in tow. Fish excellent. But my favorite was spartan decor and lighting from the Italian 40s. Like a movie set and Bertolucci was going to enter soon to tell me Italy fascists are coming. Just a dream to go along with tiramisu of great flavor and a local white wine. Highly recommend to solo travelers."

Sto scherzando chiedendo cosa aveva mangiato: cavalieri con ricotta salata cotta nel forno a legna. Voglio assaggiarli. mia moglie sonia invece optò per alcuni rigatoni al Bolognese cotto anche nel forno a legna. come vino prendiamo un bicchiere di rifiuti bianchi; inzolia. Bella fresca, buona. arrivare i 2 prima, abbondante e soprattutto oca! decidiamo di provare un fazzoletto con salsiccia svizzera piccante con mozzarella. scelta vincente! consegna: Filip ci offre qualche spumante e un paio di fette di torta di compleanno. "Walking along Via Atenea in old town Agrigento looking for a restaurant that was serving pizza or pasta, Gambrinus served both. My partner and I both ordered a Pizza Margherita. Being vegetarian limits the pasta dishes we could try. The pizza was very basic, nothing great about the food. The crust was very crispy and hard to cut, but tasted pretty good. The tomato sauce was sweet but tasted ok, the cheese had no flavor at all. Service was fine, all of the waiters were rushing around and working hard so can't complain."

"This trattoria was recommended by our host Alberto at the B&B Roba degli Olivi (much recommended, btw . We ate here two nights in a row during our stay near Agrigento. Normally we would want to visit different restaurants when in a new place, but the first night was so good, we went back. Great pizzas (and 5 pages of different kinds to choose from! , pasta, and vegetables. The second night we ordered the complete menu an amazing bargain for only 25 Euros. They started with so many kinds of antipasti all delicious and homemade that when it was time for a primo, we were already getting full, so went straight to the meat course. Their grilled meat was excellent lamb, pork, and beef. All followed by some wonderful homemade cannoli, and a delicious blueberry based amaro afterwards. Wine was also good and cheap!"
