"Was looking for a quick meal to grab when I stopped here starving. This Venezuelan eatery offers all the typical fare you?d expect (at great prices) and even has a couple notable specials like 2 of their Engy Hot Dogs with a fountain soda for only $3.99 after 3p.m. I decided to go for their ?You Can?t Eat Just One Empanadita? special to start which includes 3 fried empanadas of your choice and a fountain soda for $3.99. The empanadas were mediocre, nothing special to rave about though I really enjoyed their house sauces served with them which you shouldn?t miss out on! For my entree I decided to get their Steak Pepiarepa $8.99 since I had never seen anything like it before. Their Pepiarepas are fried arepas cut into chunks, cabbage, tomatoes, ham, boiled egg, mustard, ketchup and their house ?engy? sauce so kind of like a deconstructed arepa served in a bowl with your choice of protein. I think I would have preferred ordering a normal stuffed arepa to this even though the flavors and combination were somewhat tasty. Some of the ingredients (like the arepa and steak pieces) were over cooked making it chewy and the whole thing taste pretty second-rate. I did come 30 minutes before closing which I usually try to avoid and maybe is why my meal came out just okay. The staff was very friendly and it was an inviting eatery, but I can?t see myself venturing back any time soon."

"TikTok made me do it! let me tell you, I DON?T REGRET IT! Bless whoever made the Sesame Asian Cuisine ?All You Can Eat? TikTok pop up on my home page. This place is a gem that must be protected at all costs! Of course I went to the All You Can Eat Brunch which takes places on the weekends from 11am to 4pm for $40! Additionally to their brunch they also have amazing cocktail promos such as the 2 hours bottomless mimosa for $19 and their 2 cocktails for $20. Btw: They also an a la carte offering if brunching is not your thing. The second I walked in this place I was mesmerized by the Asian pop culture inspired decor all across the restaurant. Everything looked so cute and every corned is highly Instagramable! I arrived around 11:45-12pm so there was no wait time, however when I was leaving at around 2pm the line outside was quite long so I?d recommend securing your spot by making a reservation. We were welcomed by the super friendly staff and our server who quickly lead us to our table. She was so kind and explained throughly about how the brunch worked and even gave us recommendations. My top picks are: Pork Belly Bun, Pork Belly Donburi, Shrimp Tempura Roll. For the in depth breakdown: I ordered the Spicy Garlic Edamame (6/10 , Pork Belly Bun (10/10 MUST MUST MUST TRY! One of the best pork belly buns I?ve tried in my life! , Homemade Spring Roll (5/10 , Basil Asian Fried Calamari (6.5/10 they were too oily and salty , Crab Rangoons (7/10 , Tropical Ceviche (7.5/10 , Ultimate Dragon Roll (7/10 , Shrimp Tempura Roll (8.5/10 , Ocean Cobra Roll (7.5/10 , California Roll (8/10 , Pork Belly Donburi (9.5/10 SO SO DELICIOUS ! "Was in the area, and as I often do, search G.Maps to see what 's good in this hood . Kokai had the most positive reviews so without hesitation I hit start on the directions. Actually got there just as they were opening. So got a great look at the place before anyone was seated. By the time my first appetizer arrived and the Iced Green Tea, the place was already showing signs of a lunch buzz (and it was only 12:15 pm). Shrimp shumai was good as expected, with a twist of hot mustard on the plate. The edamame came out steaming hot with the right amount of sea salt. And my ? sushi was above expectation on presentation, flavors and portion. Overall great experience. Just a note... a lot, and I mean 95% of the sushi rolls have cream cheese in the ingredients. I asked them to swap that out for avocado ? in my roll. No problem for a $1 fee (which I don 't even think they charged me). It was just a bit surprising that I had to search for the 2 or 3 rolls that didn 't have it and just ended up substituting it. Was very happy that it was an easy thing to ask for. Will go back to try some of their unique fusion sushi with madura, as well as the latin-esque flavors. You will do a double-take as you hear a steady flow of beautiful Español in an Asian restaurant. But so goes the wonderful spectrum of our human experience. I stopped looking for Authentic Japanese, or anything ethnic with an original face in the kitchen decades ago. Just happy to have wonderful cuisine with with a broad spectrum of flavors brought to us by imaginative people from all over the world. #LocalGem #AsianFusion #GoodEats #theresthatfoodie"
