"My husband and I wanted to try something out of our normal weekly dinner dine ins and after searching for a restaurant, we came across Yamato Sushi House on Bluemound. It is tucked away in the back corner of a small plaza. The layout was quite nice and very roomy. We were the only customers in the restaurant and later came another individual towards the end of our meal, so it was extremely quiet. There wasn 't any music or anything so that made it even more quiet. When we entered, we weren 't greeted. The male who (I assume worked the front desk came and just stared at us. I asked for a table for two. We were seated at the very first booth he handed us the menu and didn 't go over anything with us at all. (It was our first time there so we weren 't sure if there were any specials, etc. Along with the menu, there were sheets of paper and after taking a look at the paper, it appears they offer All You Can Eat Sushi . After a good five minutes the gentleman came back and mumbled some words which I assumed he had asked what we wanted to drink. With a blank look on our faces, we just asked for water. After receiving our waters, we asked if we could order. Without any words, he brought out his notepad and took our order (Sushi for two and a Volcano Roll . The food didn 't take long to get to us since we were the only customers there. However, while eating; we heard a tiny clipping noise and noticed that the gentleman was sitting behind the front desk/bar clipping his nails. It was quite unpleasant, unsanitary and unprofessional. Our food was GREAT! The sushi rice was cooked perfectly we 've been to places that had either too hard or old rice and it just ruins the whole point of sushi. So good job on the food! The only thing that really confused us was that our sushi for two entree did not come with soup and salad like most restaurants. The gentleman never came back to ask how we were doing so we couldn 't ask him if we were missing those. Unfortunately, we have decided it is not worth our return since the service was very unwelcoming and mind you, the NAIL CLIPPING was the biggest issue of our first time dining there. The place seemed to be semi maintained. There were stains on the wall and tables were a bit sticky and don 't forget the little fruit flies that kept bothering us as well. We quickly ate, paid and left. If the staff/s had better manners and professionalism, I think this place would go far. It all makes sense as to why we were the only customers during the normal dinner rush. One star for good food."
