"Jimmy's Place Forest Park has become a go-to spot for takeout in our household. We particularly enjoy their chicken parmesan, chicken alfredo, and pizza. When the pizza is cooked perfectly, it's absolutely delicious, but unfortunately, it's often overcooked or burnt. This inconsistency is frustrating, but we keep coming back because, when they get it right, it's worth it. The main downside to Jimmy's Place is the service. The bartenders always seem put out, and the overall service is less than ideal. On our most recent visit, I was dismissed by James while waiting for our to-go order. Perhaps he thought I was a food delivery person, but regardless, I was ready to order a drink while I waited but was never given the opportunity. Another issue is the lack of consistency in food preparation. Sometimes our order is ready promptly, while other times there's a significant wait. Despite these challenges, we continue to order takeout because we enjoy the food. However, this has deterred us from dining in, as we'd love to see an improvement in their staffing and customer service. Despite these issues, Jimmy's Place is capable of accommodating large groups, such as baseball teams or big families, which is a great plus. They also host live entertainment with singers from time to time, adding a lively atmosphere to the dining experience. They offer outdoor seating, which is perfect for enjoying a meal on a nice day. Parking is convenient, with a lot in the back and street metered parking out front. Overall, Jimmy's Place gets a 3 out of 5. If they can address their staffing and service issues and improve consistency, we'd be more inclined to dine in and possibly rate them higher."
