"When my husband called to ask about redeeming his gift certificate for dinner, the woman who answered checked with her supervisor, who claimed he didn't recall agreeing to participate in a promotion for troops or first responders. If that's the case, why were they on the list of participating restaurants?
Initially, we considered trying one of the other restaurants on the list, but my husband, really eager to try this new Italian place and hopeful it would become a favorite, decided to call back for clarification. After some back-and-forth, they stated they had simply been confused and instructed him to print out the code to redeem the certificate and come in.
We followed their instructions, excited for what we hoped would be a delightful dinner, only to be told upon our arrival that they don’t actually participate in such promotions. The best they could offer us was $15 off a $30 purchase—provided we printed out another offer. Frustrated, we left and chose to spend our money elsewhere, at a place that didn’t make us feel like we were begging for a free meal. We had planned to order generously and tip well.
I just don’t understand why they promoted this offer through diners club, Lithia automotive, and KMPH Fox News if they never intended to honor it. Perhaps it was just a ploy to appear supportive in the community and attract new customers? I’m disappointed that a place would promise discounts to our veterans and first responders and then refuse to stand by that commitment. It’s shameful and disheartening!"
