"I visited this restaurant on a busy Friday afternoon, arriving at 6:15 PM and leaving around 8:10 PM. We were a party of four and had to wait about 20 minutes for a table. We ordered two shrimp cocktails, a ground beef taco plate, and a sampler plate. After being seated, we waited around 20 minutes before we could place our order. Then, it took another 45 minutes for our food to arrive, all the while watching larger groups that were seated after us get their meals first. We were informed that a large takeout order had slowed down the kitchen. Our waiter seemed to be trying his best, but we saw very little of him until we reached a point where we were ready to leave and had to ask another waitress for help. Unfortunately, she responded with an attitude that seemed unnecessary, especially since my group is always patient and kind to servers. For context, I once reviewed Chili's positively when they were understaffed on a Saturday; I completely understand the challenges faced by service workers. It's a tough job, and they deal with difficult customers daily. I just didn’t expect the waitress to be so curt and dismissive. When our food finally arrived, I was told that the shrimp cocktails take a long time to prepare. However, as someone with some kitchen experience, I can confidently say that's not accurate, especially given the quality of the cocktail I received. It was lacking in shrimp and overly simplistic, tasting more like a mix of V8, ketchup, pico de gallo, and chunks of avocado. At least the shrimp was fresh. The refried beans on the taco plate were dry, but the sampler was enormous and quite tasty. To his credit, our waiter did try to make up for the delays by offering us complimentary fried ice cream, but by that point, I was already in a “let's get out of here” mindset."

"First time going here, the lady taking our order was rushing the heck out of us, we were only there for 30 seconds and she's kept asking us what do we want! As a business owner, I tried to keep positive, so asked her can you please wait we want to look over the menu, instead of saying okay and walk away she proceeded to ask do we want chicken, do we want beef, do we want seafood blah blah, we took a 3 second look at the menu. I was ready to tell my kids, lets roll but they wanted to try it so they just settled for their usual dish. What got me tee'd off was I know how the Clover and Square Point of Purchase tablet work because I've sold them and service them. As soon as we ordered she spins the screen around after swiping for the HIGHEST TIPPING AMOUNTS to show first! You want to lose my business try that on customers, they'll never go back. While standing there I swiped back to the other screen, she was totally surprised and then I open the menu so you can see the entire charge. Then I just looked, smiled and gave her 15%. The food is cafeteria level bland, my kids beef was burnt tasting and no flavor. The swiping of the Square or Clover POS screen to the highest tipping menu, instead of letting the customer choose or ask is there a higher tip screen? will get you ZERO business from me or my associates ever. This is a bad business practice and companies have no idea how much business they are losing doing this silly ploy. The food also would not have me go back. I tip regardless if you give me good service or not, if the service and food is horrible, then don't expect me back ever. "RUINED OUR THEATER EVENING when we gave them another chance after RUINING MOTHERS DAY. After communicating both in the reservation and when we were being seated that we had theater tickets and needed to manage a timeline, the staff at Culinary Dropout left us sitting, unacknowledged by a server for fully 15 minutes until I waived down another server and asked for assistance. They then took our order. The food was subsequently delivered only 2 minutes after our cocktails, leaving no room to really enjoy the cocktail before having the meal delivered. Then we asked for dessert. We specifically ordered the no prep required pie (as opposed to the baked fresh dessert to ensure we could get out on time. 15 minutes later they still hadn’t delivered the single piece of cold Mississippi mudslide pie we had ordered. Now we were pushing being late for the theater. I asked for the check and the pie to go. This thoughtless staff didn’t do any of the things needed to take care of a table who clearly communicated a timeline for dining. They ruined what was supposed to be a lovely dinner before the theater with anxiety about whether we could get what we needed in time. They get some stars because the food, when it came, was quite good. But if you want to have a great experience, they fail utterly. (Note we came to culinary dropout to give them another chance and use the $50 gift card from the last dining horror when on Mother’s Day they took over an hour to bring our meals. NEVER AGAIN!!!!"
