"Someone I knew called to say they would be playing in a band here one night so we made a reservation to ensure we could see them play. Two days before that night, they called back to say they would NOT be playing because the owner had double booked bands that night. Apparently something similar had happened before and the band has sworn to never return. So naturally, we called to inquire about canceling our reservation because then entire reason we booked one was to see the band play. We were told there is a $300 fee for canceling a reservation. We explained the entire situation and were told completely unsympathetically the $300 cancelation fee would not be waived and that there was another band that would be playing that evening. So rather than be out $300 for someone else’s mistake, we kept the reservation. We were seated in a room away from all other guests and directly outside the bathroom. Talk about an awkward atmosphere in sight, smell, and sound. We asked the waitress about the band that was supposed to be playing that night and were told there’s a small “sort of” stage behind the restaurant for live music but there certainly was no performance that evening. So much for being double booked. Having to park across the street on gravel is a bit of a let down for what this place claims to be. There is a ramp to the side of the front door for wheelchair access but nothing else inside is handicap accessible. The chairs appear to be nice and in good condition but once you sit in them, you realize they are blown out and shortly after they are cutting off the circulation in the back of your legs. The menu is a bit odd as everything is ala carte meaning everything is served separately and costs extra. I have my suspicions that the wagyu was not as exotic as is claimed because I’ve had quite similar steaks in both texture and flavor from the likes of Longhorn’s black angus. I was also a bit confused by the drizzle of honey and balsamic vinegar on the cutting board that was my plate. Neither went well with the steak and appeared more likely to be a spillover from what was used in an attempt to resurrect what was supposed to be Brussels sprouts. They were burnt until bitter and equally crunchy and tough. Almost like they were freeze dried and then deep fried for far too long. The staff were nice and helpful for the most part. There was one that came through to use the restroom that smelled very strongly of cigarettes. Not that I mind sharing a bathroom or the close quarters of an old railroad bunkhouse, but when paying that much for a dinner, I’d like to taste what I ordered and not what the staff had on their break. Overall, we ate what we were served but left underwhelmed by basically everything. But of course the “owner” would leave a snarky reply. And in response to the claim of not having a stage or booking bands, perhaps you ought to delete the pictures of your outdoor seating and scan the other reviews for comments about the live music that you also have advertised on Google and other review platforms like find a table."

"Im very disappointed in CFA tonight. We did a curbside order, in which we ordered 2 5 counts of nuggets. we waited patiently for the food, an additional 5+ minutes after the app said it was on its way. Upon recieving the food, We examined the bag to double check and only found one 5 count of nugget. The person delivering it hadnt even finished walking away, so we called out to him and let him know there was only one nugget in the bag. He returned inside after asking for our name. A few moments later, he returned and asked us for the reciept. thats fine, but it was adhesive and on the side of the bag. he returned again. Next, some manager ? came out and told us that her worker insists that they put it in the bag and theres no way that it isnt in our bag.. Thats cool, but we are still missing a nugget. We havent moved from the spot, either. Nothing has changed, except my husband is eating his salad, and im eating my chips which arent nuggets, by the way. Finally, she gets us a nugget. Usually i have good customer service st this location. I was extremely disappointed that we felt, essentially, that we were attempting to steal a 5 count nugget from cfa- I love the company, but being made to feel like a thief after spending 30 dollars is ridiculous. Everyone can make mistakes including cfa employees. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1"

"UPDATE 3: Some months later, I am actually impressed by the level of service. The speed seems to be back to pre-covid levels. My order was on my table before I even started eating my free chips. Great job, guys! UPDATE 2: After seeing “new management” on the marquee, I dropped in again for my next taco craving; I was pleasantly surprised! I talked to the new general manager and found that the company had hired him back after he had been gone for years. Good move; they evidently got someone who knows what he’s doing. While their speed wasn’t back to that of their heyday, it was acceptable, and they were obviously still operating with a much reduced staff. That being said, the food was back to as good as ever, and their customer service was probably better than I’ve ever seen it. I’m thrilled that one of my old favorites seems to have turned it around! UPDATE: I stopped back in to see if things had improved. Thankfully, they had, though not to the level I would have hoped. It took 10 or 15 minutes for my order, and while much better than the previous trip, it’s still pretty bad for “fast food.” Unfortunately, the quality is still below where they’ve been in the past, especially the fresh cut fries. And their salsa bar was understocked and was completely out of their signature hot sauce. They obviously had more staff this time, though I suspect they still need more, as well as time for their new staff to come up to speed. I 've long been a fan of this franchise since it appeared 30+ years ago, but lately I 'm concerned for their survival. They seem to have had a hard time with the COVID shutdown, and now that their dining room is open, they seem to really be struggling with labor issues. Their marquee recently said under new management, but I guess that wasn 't enough to get back on track. My latest visit was something of a fiasco. I like the food, but I avoid the drive through because it makes me feel like I 'm being nickel-and-dimed to death. If you ask for more condiments than you have items on your ticket, they charge you 25 cents each. Inside however, you can just serve yourself from the condiment bar. So I went in, walked straight to the counter no line), noted the sign that read Special: small fry or tot $1.99 , and ordered 2 tacos and a small fry. The total price $5.85) sounded high, but since I wasn 't given a receipt, I couldn 't check it. I then went to my table and waited 25 minutes to get my order. And when I finally did check my receipt that came with it, yep, I was charged the normal price for the fries, not the advertised sale price. But the 45 cent difference just wasn 't worth the effort to ask for a refund. During the protracted wait for my food, I listened to what was happening in the restaurant. I wasn 't the only one waiting for my order. There were 2 other customers becoming agitated with the long wait, one of which was becoming late for work. There was also a delivery driver waiting for his customer 's order. The counter worker explained that there was only one person in the back making food. 2 order takers and 1 order maker seemed like a bad ratio, especially during the dinner rush... Like I said, I hope they make it. I like the food, but 25 minutes for fries and a couple of tacos is just too long to wait. I can see they 're trying to hire more help from the sign in every window, but their starting wage is $5 per hour lower than other fast food places I 've seen. Good luck."
