"It took over an hour and a half to get our food. Apparently they were more important people in front of us. We had had the reservation for about three weeks and were feeling pretty neglected after the whole affair. On top of that, our server, if she left us sitting for close to a quarter hour after leaving to get our bill. I finally stood up and walked to the cash register and waited for our bill to arrive. The Response was that she forgot about us, sorry! The lamb was mushy and overcooked, the steak was impossibly undercooked, and the salmon was actually pretty good. The flavors were bland. The pita was stale. We were there for over two hours. mentioned it to the Owner/manager (while waiting for the bill to arrive) who suggested that next time we should tell our server (we did tell mention the food wasn’t good, but she just smiled) and have the bill reduced. L O L, there are a lot of great restaurants in Kalamazoo. We will not be returning."

"I went in feeling like a starved glutton, only to leave feeling like a full bellied king. For the past week, I've been living off of gas station food through long hours of work. The roasted bone marrow appetizer followed up with Rustica's signature wagyu steak with potatoes and broccoli florets had given me a taste of culture and civility which our shared world is currently very much lacking. Bill, the first face of Rustica I had the pleasure to meet welcomed me in without a second word toward not having a reservation prior to my arrival. I was treated better than I treat myself most time. And a special thank you to the bartender Jaymie, the sharp spoken blonde with glasses and a warming smile, treated me wonderfully (the wine matched the steak so well, thank you). though I felt like a tramp just off the street as I first entered, I left feeling like a person again. Thank you, Rustica. Thank your staff as well, I hope this restaurant stays around for decades to come."

"Our family enjoyed the outdoor seating and the servers did a fabulous job moving other tables inside quickly when rain hit out of the blue. We were under an umbrella and a large tree and didn't have to move and the rain ended quickly. Our teenage children haven't been to many nice restaurants and they loved the creative appetizers, especially the homemade croutons on the ceasar salad, delicious! We all had very good meals and were too full for dessert which is unfortunate because I have had the chocolate bread pudding with Baileys before and it is divine! There are so many tasty options and we enjoyed the scallops as well as the duck, key lime chicken and the flank. You can't go wrong!"

"I've been going to the eccentric cafe since Larry turned a filthy old room in his warehouse into the first version, with the bathroom up the stairs to a hole in the wall and ping pong tables in the back. Das Boot! Every time I go there it gets nicer and nicer. The milk stout on tap was excellent. It has that unique Bells flavor. And everyone's food was excellent as well. We all miss Larry. It was his eccentricity that made Bells what it is today. I think the new corporate ownership has their heads up their asses. (Whose idea was it to have an IPA eccentric ale? but I will always love the eccentric cafe. Not to be missed. Wide selection of beers on tap, the prices of drinks fluctuate after 8pm. I googled the buildings history while waiting for dinner. It turns out the building used to be a Gibson Guitar factory and warehouse."

"Comensoli’s provides and excellent variety of delicious Italian food, extensive wine list, and creative cocktails. Their offerings are fresh and full of complex flavors. The main dining room is very cozy and festive. The back room could us a little more attention with the decor but, I’m sure they will get there eventually. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. With multiple courses ordered, we were pleased that everything came out in perfect harmony. The chefs work their magic in a small bistro style kitchen and I’ve never been disappointed in any dish they’ve created. This restaurant is a gem in Kalamazoo."

"This is the only brewery that I have ever seen with bar games and pinball machines for your enjoyment while sipping on your favorite beer. They have too bars in the building, an outside patio and a kitchen with a limited amount of bar food. The staff here are very friendly and knowledgeable with their beers. The atmosphere here is similar to a local neighborhood bar where everyone knows each other. The beers are very good and the have a very good variety IPA's, porters, stouts and barrel aged. One of their barrel aged is very smooth and it doesn't tastes like barrel aged even with the high ABV. Unfortunately I don't recall the name of the barrel aged beer. My favorite at this facility is the Moral Dilemma IPA with a 9.0% ABV, it's very refreshing."

"While the options here might not be as healthy as one typically thinks of sushi as (tempura sweet potato, anyone? deep fried terriyaki tofu? it certainly is tasty! The waiters were very good about letting us know what was/wasn't vegan (the miso soup is not vegan and also good at explaining how to order, what comes in an order, etc. Presentation is often very important to me when it comes to food and there is no question that this place knows what's up. The food is so pretty I almost didn't want to eat it! But then I immediately did and loved every bite. We got sharing plate appetizers of edamame (with some kind of delicious large flake salt and the mushroom medley. For entrees we shared the hibachi veggie plate (a HUGE portion that came with rice (you choose fried or steamed , terriyaki fried tofu, grilled veggies, and tempura sweet potato. We also got the boogie veggie signature roll that came with radish sprouts, cucumber, avocado, kampyo, tempura sweet potato, and maru dressing (a sweet dipping sauce . There were so many vegan rolls it was hard to choose! You can also sub brown rice in the rolls for $1 extra. The interior is really nice as well with a repurposed feel to it next to the train tracks with vaulted ceilings, natural lighting, and different levels. They also offer a selection of special teas and cocktails (I got their house blend of green tea and my mom got some sort of strawberry basil lemonade cocktail ."

"We arrived to the Studio Grill at around 9 am on a Sunday. This place is small and in a town where there are a surprising number of Sunday morning closures, it was unsurprisingly busy. We were content to wait for a table, but the manager made a unique and welcome suggestion go next door to the bookstore (also open), browse for a few minutes, and they would send a staff member over to get us when the table was ready. Just to make sure...they took a name (my youngest child's name, who was tickled pink) to be able to call when they came to fetch us. We headed over to the bookstore next door and spent a blissful 10 minutes pouring over the shelves and eventually walking out some dollars poorer but feeling very content, even before our meal began. What a perk! The meal itself was delicious. Our family of 4 was still in dinner recovery from the night before, so we ended up splitting two adult meals: the cinnamon roll pancakes and the stuffed French toast. My youngest also ordered a side of bacon. All was delicious and came out very quickly. Drip coffee was okay I expected a bit more strength for a place that had an espresso machine nearby, but that's fine I understand they don't make their money on cups of drip coffee. Service was attentive and another waitress who came by to grab plates even took a moment to compliment my child's choice of book from next door. If we were in K-zoo for longer, I would absolutely be hitting this place up again for breakfast. I'm dying to try some of their vegetarian dishes which looked excellent. Between the menu, service and total experience, this place is an absolute keeper. No question."

"I absolutely love this place. The minute you walk in you feel at ease in the low light and comfortable and classy decor. They have a great menu, with vegan and spicy options marked as such, which makes ordering a lot simpler. The servers are very knowledgeable about the menu and helpful in deciding what you'd like best. They're also punctual and friendly. I've always had good service there. Most importantly, the food is delicious. I try something different each time, and it's always amazing. The jasmine rice is fantastic, as is the gobi aloo. They also have a nice wine list, though I stick with fountain drinks. The only downside is that it's not cheap. Not that you'd expect a cheap meal with such high quality food, ambiance and service, you just need to be ready to pay a little more for what you're getting. Entrees generally range from $11 to $15."

"This is the 2nd time I've gotten the barbecue chicken dinner. You get 1/2 of a really big chicken, and it's so tender and flavorful! The sides are very tasty, but I think they need to work on them, because they all tend to be very runny, with way too much liquid (potato salad, coleslaw, Mac cheese, etc) in them. The flavor is still good, but you end up with a puddle of liquid! But I'll still be back, for either the chicken or the delicious rib tips! And the people working there are very nice and friendly!"

"This restaurant is so amazing that the chef must have magical powers. Everything we tried was not just good, but absolutely fantastic. My husband and I visited for our anniversary and we were completely satisfied. The staff was outstanding - attentive but not overbearing. The drinks were creative and delicious. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and provided great recommendations. I ordered the lamb Ragu, which was mouthwatering. We started with the Confit Duck Wings, which were incredible. My husband had the steak, which was cooked to perfection and seasoned beautifully. This restaurant is a must-visit if you're in the area. The atmosphere is ideal, with just the right amount of music to create a great ambiance. I can't recommend this place enough."

"My experience at Latitude 42 was amazing! My party of four walked in at 8:45 PM. They close at 9:30 PM. Cody (I think) the host was so welcoming and full of positivity. He sat us in a booth right away. The server Hope was so kind! She did not rush us at all. We ordered drinks many of which were her recommendations. The food came out quickly and tasted great! 9:30 approached and Hope asked if we wanted dessert, made us feel no rush (we were too stuffed to eat dessert but its the thought that counts). I’m a big fan of latitude 42 whenever I’m in town. My husband loves the buttermilk chicken tenders with the Truffalo sauce. Highly recommend!"

"A dinner in Bold. Really great service and ambience. This was brilliant, but on the expensive side of the value equation so 4 vs 5 stars. If money is not a factor, I would recommend Bold. $162 for 2. Everyone with a drink, appetizer, not a desert, but has included tip. About my food: loved my plate. Excellent presentation aroma and very hot. Flavor supported the perception. Scallops perfect sea red, crab rich and fleshy, and shrimp very large and perfectly cooked. I would order again and if you decided to drop the coin, I recommend you try."

"If we find a Mexican restaurant outside of my hometown, El Paso, I usually keep my expectations low, thinking it might not be authentic. However, this place genuinely is! The food was delicious, and the service was outstanding. Carmen was incredibly friendly and took great care of us. We went with our twin children, and they were very accommodating. The kids loved the rice and the chicken taco with flour tortillas. My husband had the green enchiladas with chicken, and I enjoyed the pollock with mole, which brought back memories from home in Chihuahua! Both dishes were excellent, and Carmen served us specially made spicy salsas that were homemade and truly tasty. The salsa served with the green enchiladas reminded me of home, with a perfect balance of flavors—onion, garlic, and chiles without being overly salty. Also, the tostadas (chips) are made in-house, which is another indicator of a truly authentic Mexican restaurant. Carmen even treated our kids to free popsicles from her Mi Michoacán side business. Thank you, Carmen! Please support this restaurant! We don’t live here, but if we did, we would definitely consider ourselves regulars. Thanks to this wonderful establishment for the amazing service and delicious food that made me feel connected to my Mexican roots. May God bless you all!"
