"On the night of our visit, there were various baseball and basketball events happening nearby, so the restaurant was quite busy. Fortunately, our party was seated right away, and we received assistance promptly. However, after around 15 minutes of chatting and reviewing the menu, we realized that no waiter had approached our table. Normally, I would have left at this point to find another place to eat, but persuasion from my group kept me there. We notified the hostess about our situation, and a waiter promptly came over to apologize and take our orders shortly after.
Our drinks arrived quickly, along with an appetizer of garlic bread served with marinara sauce. While the sweet tea wasn't quite the Southern style I prefer, it was still good (and if you've read my reviews, you know how much I value my sweet tea). After a long week, I ordered a bottle of rosé, which was just what I needed after a tiring day filled with basketball.
The side salads arrived along with our appetizers. We ordered calamari and fried ravioli. The calamari was cooked perfectly and disappeared quickly—too quickly, in fact, as I didn’t get a chance to try the fried ravioli since my kids took care of that! The side salads were fresh, with just the right amount of dressing.
As for the entrées, we ordered a Greek salad with grilled chicken, NY strip steak, lasagna, and spaghetti with meatballs. I was asked if I wanted a small or large salad; I opted for the small with grilled chicken, but what I received was essentially a side salad topped with nearly two-thirds of a sliced chicken breast. Just keep in mind if you order a salad! It was tasty, but I wished for a bit more salad alongside my chicken—though I wasn't super hungry from the wait, so it worked out. My son devoured the lasagna in its personal container and said it was fantastic, while his friend enjoyed the spaghetti with meatballs, saving half for later because he was full. My son's dad liked his NY strip steak, which was cooked to perfection and well-seasoned—no steak sauce needed. The mashed potatoes and Italian vegetables were also tasty.
For dessert, we treated ourselves to Sea Salt Caramel Cake and Chocolate Mousse Layer Cake. As someone who typically doesn’t enjoy sweet and salty combinations, I was pleasantly surprised; I couldn't taste the salt, and the cake melted in my mouth—it was absolutely delicious! The caramel was just the right amount. The chocolate mousse cake was also delightful, reminiscent of Hershey's semi-sweet chocolate. I savored that one as well. The coffee reportedly was good, but I was still enjoying the rosé.
Overall, the food and drinks were really enjoyable, and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We had a nice booth with plenty of space to relax and enjoy our meal. However, the long wait for a waiter and the appearance of larger parties arriving left a slightly bitter feeling for me, especially after a full day of basketball. I had hoped to unwind with a good meal. While I might consider returning, I would prefer to go back on a less hectic day. I appreciated our waiter’s apology, but I expected the manager to come over, address the situation, and ensure that we were having a good experience."
