"As a Black resident of Mt. Zion, IL, a community that is only 2% black, I feel that Four Star Family Restaurant is specifically for WHITE families only and the owner should probably do what he most likely feels in his heart and put a “Whites Only” sign on the front door. I went there today 9/8/24, to get take out order (as I no longer feel comfortable eating inside the restaurant due to a previous experience of being the ONLY black customer, and receiving differential treatment by a waitress). The cashier (possible owner) treated me like I was completely unwelcome. When I walked in, I was once again, ignored by staff (and again the only black customer). When I told the cashier that I was there for my order, he abruptly took my card and examined it as if it was a stolen Link card. He swiped it and then pointed to my food which was left in the middle of the counter. He NEVER spoke to me, NEVER thanked me or showed any form of hospitality like he did the other “white” customers and I left once again feeling the anxiety of racial discrimination!! I WILL NEVER PATRONIZE THIS ESTABLISHMENT AGAIN!!!!!!! BLACK PEOPLES BEWARE!!!"
