"Even if you do not need to get food for your home or room, paying a visit to The Halles of Nîmes is a must. They are located inside the historical city center, l'Ecusson. It is a sizeable wet market, indoor, and opened all year long 7days a week, from about 6:30 am to about 1p.m. You will get/see all possible ingredients and food supplies to support French Cuisine, with an emphasis on regional products: fruits&veggies, charcutry, cheese, fish....Here comes "la Pie qui couette", an insider restaurant openned for lunch everyday but on Mondays. Confortably sit on high bar-chairs, you will watch the cooks preparing your food orders directly from the Halles fresh products. There is variety on menu lists, depe, ding on seasons and availibility. There is agood level on innovation and creativity from the Chef. The wine list ( mostly regional ) offers good choices , "by the glass" included. And if you want to push them into "digestifs", liquors, you get a good response.Overall, Very good "quality for money".Not easy to make a reservation on weekends, public holydays or high season, as their system hardly enables it.My advice is to show up 20 minutes ahead of your meal time, deal with the staff about status and go to ramble in the alleys of the Halles meantime. Normally you will not wait for more than 20/30 minutes.Enjoy you meal!"

"I was told the greatest good of this Piazzetta, so much and so well that I was making a joy to satisfy my 25% lumbar blood. My peccato... This is not the experience I've experienced. Which, of course, is not intended to erase the so-called "hyrambique" comments of my predecessors. Let's start with what was good: the location, the wine, the smile and the welcome of the boss, the sunny lunch, the dish chosen by my companion, his company. There you go. On the other hand, I can't say so much about the assailant. I think they zealed us and realised it to our deconfited mines. And pizza! The Italian gastronomy, especially Neapolitan, is a simple, peasant cuisine with few ingredients. So to be a very good pizzaiolo, you have to do miracles with nothing. Not simple! Raty in this case. The dough is any, the preparation of anche tomato. I chose a classic Calzone. I'd love calzone . 4 ingredients: tomato (already seen , ham (present ! , mozzarella (here ! and egg... egg ? Egg, I've been hoping for you to get to the last bite, but it's been good to get to the evidence... you've been stuck in the chicken! I've thought of the calzone and even in the trucks-pizza, I've never been hit. When advising a waiter (overwhelmed the poor man I kindly remark it. He answers me, straight in his sneakers: it's extra egg! Well, well, he didn't read the map either. Or is it a strategy to respond to customers, in ping-pong mode? But the most unpleasant, it is the customers who wait standing behind you, that the table they were promised is released. When you go to the restaurant, it's as much to get tired as to spend a pleasant, relaxed moment, not to find yourself in a coffee atmosphere. Come on, I end up like I started, on a positive note. Prices are correct."
