"Delightful in taste, service, ambience. My grandparents and now I, have lived in the area for a very long time... and yes, the Dove was always one of those... hey let 's try it sometime places. After our dinner last night it was a why didn 't we come sooner places! The restaurant is adorable but in a classy not cutesy way. We were welcomed as we entered by the bartenders who i think is an owner)...A good size bar with plenty of seating, and lounge- type seating in the room. Adjoining the bar was the main dining room, and as passing into it you pass a small glass enclosed wine room which looked nicely stocked. The dining room was also nicely decorated, white trim on the wood around the many windows, some painted vines and such around, and all the tables were set with linens and nice silver. It looked like they may have a banquet space through french doors as well. We voiced our rough day we had to our server whom introduced herself and was very sweet) and ordered 2 martinis. She returned with them, and the shaker filled with enough for seconds! We enjoyed the bread and whipped butter, and scarffed up the escargot on parmesan crisps one of the best carpaccios I 've had in a long time. It was melt in your mouth! We were also brought a small sampling of pasta faziole with small dishes of thin shedded parmesan, and chopped onion. A great homemade dish. The salads were fresh and ample... ...and then we were brought the second nice touch of lemoncello sorbet in a shot glass. Fun! We couldn 't decide on pasta vs. entree so we ordered a Pasta Carbonara to share with our Marsala Au Pouive tenderloin. All tastey, cooked to temp, and enough for leftovers. The bacon in the carbonara had great flavor as well. The wine list is a nice size, I did wish there were more Italian selections, but the Barbara D 'Asti went very well with dinner. There was no room for dessert so we headed out, being thanked, goodbyed, and offered a bag of their breads which were placed in a bowl by the door for leaving guests at the end of the night. All in all excellent. They had something on the menu called the 'Chef 's European Tour ' which consisted of a variety chef 's choice courses, and could be paired with wine. I beleive it was $70 per person for food, and $20 for the wine. The server said it was a lot of food, and fun. She let us know to call for a reservation for this, and plan on coming in an earlier hour, as it takes awhile! We definately plan on trying this out! Next time you drive by or think of The Dove, go there! You won 't be just passing by anymore."
