"My husband and I had been looking forward to visiting this place for 10 years, and it did not disappoint. The food and service were absolutely outstanding. The volunteers gave us a thorough tour and were very knowledgeable; you could tell they were passionate about what they do. The food was delightful—I ordered the soup and salad, while my husband had the Monte Cristo, and we enjoyed every bite. The cellar shop was fantastic as well; we found early editions of Steinbeck's books to add to our collection, and it was incredible to see the bed where Steinbeck was born. If you’re a fan of Steinbeck, this is a must-visit. Food: 5/5, Service: 5/5, Atmosphere: 5/5."

"It was delicious!! My husband and I both had the veal scalopini with wild mushroom sauce and it was so tender and flavorful! We each had a glass of the Red Blend, Troublemaker, from Past Robles and it as smooth. We finished our meal off with the Almond, hazlenut, chocolate cake and that was the perfect ending to a great dinner!!"

"Its always great when you find a special place. The Village Restaurant is that place. My wife and I were on a road trip. Up from So Cal. Decided to spend the night in Salinas. We found our way to the V.R. It already had great reviews, and for good reason. The food is top notch. The staff we met were also exceptional. Gabby the owner and Augi made us feel right at home. We gave the place 5 stars, but only because 10 wasn't given as an option!. Check it out. You won't be disappointed."

"Wow! Amazing experience! I sampled a bit of everything: Gordita, taco, Vampiras, and Mulita. My favorite had to be the Tripas Taco—absolutely delightful! Even though it was small, it was loaded with meat! You know a dish is good when you forget to add salsa, haha. The Vampiras was another standout; it was simply delicious. I ordered through DoorDash, and to my surprise, it was ready in no time! If you visit this place, you won't be disappointed. I will definitely return while I’m working in the area!"

"Let me start by saying the food is delicious. However, this was my first time, and in my humble opinion, the front of house needs work! As soon as we entered, we got our table right away, which was great. someone came out and did ask if we wanted some drinks or water within a couple minutes which was also great. However, after that it took around 25 minutes even with our menus on the edge of the table like we're ready to order before someone came back to see if we wanted appetizers or to even take our order. We were almost going to walk out when they finally came over. On top of that, almost all the tables had bread, but we never got any during the 25 minutes. We were just sitting there watching other people eat. After they finally came to take our order, we then asked the waitress for some bread in which they did bring us some around 5-10 minutes later, but it was just a few little pieces and we were told there was heating up more in the oven and they would bring us some more, which they never did..... which was extremely disappointing because again we've been waiting for so long, and the bread was extremely delicious. My wife originally just got a glass of water however, after the 25 minute wait my wife decided to have a glass of wine so she ordered it and they forgot to bring the wine and we had to remind them when our food finally came. We actually had movie plans that I purchased tickets for in advance which we had to cancel and go to a later show because of this. I'm not sure what the deal was because this was probably 7 PM or so, and was not extremely busy. I didn't count how many groups but it looked like maybe 6-7 tables. it seems like everybody was getting checked on except for us. I can understand a few minutes, but 25 minutes for someone to see if we even want an appetizer or take our order and then forget to bring the wine and on top of that offer us more bread that was in the oven, but they never did.... wow! At one point, I even dropped my cloth napkin on the floor and because they were not checking on us. I had to get up and go grab a new one myself. Moving forward just to really be clear the food was great!!! The staff was extremely nice, especially the host and chef Nino!!! The waitress was extremely nice as well however she just needs to step up her game and make sure that everyone is taken care of and or there needs to be a manager or supervisor that walks around every so often checking on the guests. I mean, if you see a table with two people sitting at it with no appetizers or bread, and the menus just sitting on the edge of the table you would think that would be a red flag but I guess not lol Since this was my first time there, I'll definitely give it another try in near future and hopefully goes better next time. But for around $120 for two people and that's just two plates with one alcohol beverage I definitely expect a little bit better service than that. Well actually a lot better.... lol Hopefully they were just having a bad day and they can redeem themselves next time..., After all, we all make mistakes."

"How hard is it to put mustard on the MUSTARD dog? We ordered 6 and they were ALL plain. Tried to call them from the road to tell them they messed up, no answer. Also want to mention they now skimp on the fries (which were overcooked and hard) and thecorndogs looked like they spent way too much time in the fryer. Pretty dissatisfied considering we spent almost $50.. Will notbe returning and don't recommend."

"I’ve been dining here for years, and the food is usually outstanding. However, I recently found a hair in my pho, which was disappointing. This review mainly focuses on the staff, though. As a server myself, I believe it’s essential to be attentive and regularly check on guests. Unfortunately, the only time I saw my server was when she took my order; she didn’t come back to check on me after I received my food. I tried to be patient and understanding, but given how slow the restaurant was, I expected better service."

"This Jamba Juice has declined so much in quality since it first opened. The hours have gotten shorter and shorter (seriously what breakfast place opens at 8am?! , the staff is absolutely terrible with customer service, and it always takes forever toget my drink. Today I watched a cashier continually pay attention to making online orders and making sandwiches while I waitedin line for 5+ mins as the only person in line, they never even acknowledged my presence and the person making the actualsmoothies is the only one who said they?d be right with me. It would have taken a max of 1 minute to take my order, she couldhave easily done it while one of the sandwiches were cooking. I don?t know if they were a new employee but regardless, youshould not be putting new employees on the register at 9am, and there?s needs to be a dedicated person for taking care of onlineorders since the regular staff is clearly swamped. I?d rather waste time and drive all the way across town to the one on S. Mainbecause that one is such a more pleasant experience."

"This is a wonderful place for a quick visit in downtown Salinas. The friendly staff provide great recommendations for their morning coffee, making you feel at home. They also have outdoor seating, which is a nice option during the pandemic. The only drawback is that the restrooms are closed due to CDC guidelines. Overall, I had a delightful experience and will definitely come back for more. Thank you!"

"The food here is Oaxaca style. I discovered it from reading HappyCow reviews while traveling through 101 Hwy to search what to eat. What we had were delicious, selecting from their vegan/blue zone menu. I had the Huarache which is tostada like but with soft tortilla and was piled with mushrooms, squash blossom and pesto like sauce and salsa. On the side was Nopales salad. Hubby had a big burrito filled with the same filling of my huarache plus rice, beans, and avocado. There are no meat substitutes were used. But they tasted so good. We were surprised how the taste is unique and unlike the vegan Mexican food we have tasted before. The coffee was yummy with the cinnamon taste in it and was served in a pretty mug. The pineapple Agua Fresca was delicious and made with real fruit. I recommend it and feel better than eating meat substitute burgers like Carl’s or Burger King."

"It’s one of those unassuming places we’ve all driven by a million times...an old gas station turned into a bakery/deli. Hmmm, let’s give it a try. OMG!!! The bread alone was amazing (fresh baked daily) the turkey wasn’t cheap deli turkey either. Bacon was thick crispy. Smoked Gouda?? Wow!! My tastebuds were happy. Perfect lunch after days of eating and drinking whatever we wanted. Definitely recommend this quaint little gem."

"Good food served by good neighbors. Pizza and appetizers on the Wednesday night buffet were delicious, and they include the full range of their combinations. Fresh and well-kept salad bar with almost everything you could ask for. But I'm serious about the good neighbor part as well. Generous fundraising program. Our PTO was benefiting from it tonight, but it is available for other organizations also. Oh, and sports television on around the dining room, without being too loud for conversation. Parking seemed reasonably available as did the machines at Gold's Gym next door. (Seems like another good combination: carbohydrates and cardiovascular exercise...all in a one-stop shopping destination."

"I visited the restaurant at 5:45 pm on Taco Tuesday when tacos are 99 cents. The line for the drive-thru was very long, so I decided to park and go inside instead. I was able to quickly order my food and was in and out in less than 10 minutes. I would not recommend using the drive-thru; it's better to go inside or pre-order instead."

"We’ve been coming to noodle house for years. And we’ve never been disappointed. It’s very family friendly, and the customer service is always amazing. Most of the servers have been there for years. And greet you like an old friend rather than a customer. The food is good too! I recommend the pho. Which is what I usually order. However, the fried rice, and duck are a must as well! It’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in salinas. Their food is a lot better than other places I’ve tried in the area."

"I drove 2.5hr to Salinas, to visit my sister and she took me here. OMG!!!! Friendly service, good atmosphere, the menu.... hold on to your taste buds. HUGE menu and I found that they will modify or make any roll you want. Makeup your own roll and get it posted on the wall maybe even get it on the menu. If you are ever in Salinas I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place. I've been told they even do Korean food? If your in the area go, you won't regret it. "Seriously one of those What is going on here?!?! moments ended up with a bad experience overall. No menus. Seriously...no way to tell what they have. No prices...so on. Had to ask questions and finally got to the point where we found out that they had a pizza special, and we ordered two giant pizzas for less than the guys who ordered individuals. Speaking of prices...INSANE that they would charge almost $5 for a soda. A salad and soda for $15+?!?!?! OVER 30 MINUTES for the first pizza to come out of the oven. All the other members of our crew who ordered the individuals were done with their pizzas and salads before our first pizza even hit the table. This is not a matter of workload...this is just plain problems with the team. The 2nd pizza? Oh it 's coming out of the oven right now , It just came out , it 'll be here in just a minute... All lies. not just confusion...actual lies. We watched as they made the second pizza, put it in the oven, and delivered it to us 20 minutes AFTER the first pizza got to the table. Again...not a matter of workload... No management that seemed to care about anything. Other customers experienced similar issues. Nobody cared. That was clear. The pizzas tasted good. That 's the hardest part of writing a review like this. If the service and pricing had even had a little bit of attention, and had they not outright lied about the order, this would probably have been a 4-star review. We were in town with a crew running the rodeo...and we shared our experience with many of the other crew(s) and attendees. We directed them to other locations and other competitors...everyone we talked with was glad we did because the ones that still went to Salinas Pizza Pints came back as disappointed as we did. We 'll be back for the rodeo...we won 't be going to this pizza place again. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1"

"This restaurant serves some of the best authentic food at great prices, and their customer service is excellent. The only downside is the line, but it's not too bad and definitely worth the wait. There is plenty of parking available behind or beside the building."

"amazing tacos. this is one of those small shops that are much more about the quality of foods about how instagram is worthy of their decoration and that makes it so good. the personal is friendly, they speak English and Spanish, so if they don't speak the language they can still order, don't worry. they even have the bottle coke from mexiko (the drink, calm down), which is much better than the American recipe. it is busy here, but they put the orders within minutes, so if they see a line, do not move, they get their eating quite fast independent. some might argue that the environment is not very high and the esszone justifies 4 stars, but this place knows what it is, and what it is not. they are there to make amazing food, simple and simple, and for that I give 5 stars."

"I love this restaurant, it is a unique treasure and something to enjoy. I come here every couple months with my mum and aunt and I am never disappointed. The food is just spectacular and delicious, we are always trying something new and utterly excited by the flavors. My favorites are the Walnut Shrimp, Pork Buns and Sesame Balls. The people who work here are always friendly, sweet and really make you feel like family. I would 100% recommend and cannot wait to eat here again!!!"
