"Highly recommended! I had 12 family members of all ages coming into town and decided to give La Puerta Azul a try as it had been on my list for a while. It was great all around and everyone agreed, including all the picky eaters in the group. The restaurant was able to accommodate us even though I called just a day in advance. All the food was really delicious and there were only empty plates left behind. They also accommodated many special requests. Vegetarians loved their meals. Seafood lovers loved their meals. Meat eaters loved their meals. The churros were also awesome and I saw them be from scratch in the kitchen. So hot and tender and delicious. Melted in your mouth. People who were too full fully stole their own and raved. The decor is also a hoot! Waterfall when you enter a little bridge to cross inside. We sat in a private room at the biggest round table we 've ever seen. Everyone was absolutely entertained. The service was also great. Again, they accommodated every picky eater and made menu recommendations that were great. Food was hot and delicious. Really nice presentations. Go here. You 'll really like it. I plan to return with basically everyone I know. "As someone on the autism spectrum, I thrive on routine and prefer familiar places where I can expect decent to excellent service. So, trying something new takes a lot of courage for me. After a 12-hour fast for a physical at the Healthquest Office directly across the street, I was definitely ready for a meal. When I stepped inside the diner, I was immediately impressed. One great feature is the electric outlets at many tables, which allow those of us who work on-the-go to manage our responsibilities while enjoying a meal. Plus, the WiFi is top-notch, with the login details conveniently printed on the placemat. I decided to treat myself to steak and eggs, the priciest item on the breakfast menu, but at under $20, it was more reasonable compared to other places. The service was exceptional, and my server Dalia made me feel valued and welcomed. In my view, a restaurant review should weigh service and ambiance equally with the quality of the food. I can’t tolerate establishments where the staff acts like they’re doing me a favor by serving me or ignores me when I try to get their attention. I believe we shouldn’t have to settle for bad treatment, especially when we’re paying for it! I’m definitely planning to return to Short Hills Diner and make it a regular stop when I visit my family in Dutchess County. Attached is a photo of me with my wonderful server, Dalia!"
