"This charming Italian restaurant in San Luis Obispo is a hidden gem. We had reservations and were promptly seated. Our meal began with a delightful bread basket. My husband enjoyed the chicken parmesan, which was fantastic, while I had the ravioli with meat sauce, which was equally delicious. We also ordered salads, which were fresh and beautifully presented. The service was excellent—attentive without being intrusive. We finished our meal with an irresistible crème brûlée. There’s both indoor and outdoor seating available."

"Mistura has become one of our favorite dinner destinations in Downtown SLO! It is one of those rare restaurants that somehow manages to create meals that are visually stunning to look at, delicious to eat, and most importantly nutritious. This is not an easy trick to pull off here on the Central Coast, where sandwiches/pizza/tacos reign supreme! This particular meal was extra special because Mistura helped us celebrate my birthday with a complimentary Arroz Chaufa. We paid an up charge to add perfectly grilled, Peruvian spiced shrimp, which is definitely the best way to enjoy that particular staple dish. We paired it with the Nikkei sushi roll that we've been wanting to sample, made with Peruvian Paiche white fish and plantains. Also yum! We paired all of this with a perfectly crafted Pisco Sour (see image)! Finally, we always save room for dessert because Mistura's in-house pastry chef is second to none. This time we savored a mouse crafted to look like a rose!"

"Went here on the recommendation of my daughter but was surprised by the size of the room. Did not enjoy a quiet evening as a neighboring room had loud music playing until 2 am plus the AC fan had an annoying droning sound all evening too boot.. One of the more overpriced rooms I have experienced. Ate at the restaurant with my granddaughter and the food was excellent but it didn't make up for the bad experience vis-a-vis the room. I recommend eating here and staying somewhere else unless you like paying $500+ for a smallish room and a so-so nighttime experience."

"One of our 'Must Stop ' places when visiting, or just traveling through SLO. Louisa 's is only open for Breakfast and lunch, and they get PACKED! This is a local favorite and it shows. Indoor seating is limited, but they have a counter you can sit at, if that 's your thing. Or if weather permitting, you can sit out front at one of the tables. (There are only about 3 of them. We usually just wait for an indoor table. Wait times will vary by how busy they are. We 've waited up to an hour before getting in for a table. So get there EARLY! The staff is always friendly and attentive. Prices are good and they don 't skimp on portion size."

"Brought friends who were visiting from out of town and my wife and I had never been so we figured give it a try. After we walked in the door I was happy with the music, left me feeling like I was in Louisiana right away. The building was definitely showing its age but looked well decorated and clean. The staff was super friendly and she put up with our questions and jokes. The food was really fantastic and the coffee was good and strong, very good quality. My wife and I will come back soon for the vegan jambalaya and other dishes we could not try in just one visit. BTW a friend told me the corn bread was very good, very true! A must have as well as the coffee! Thank you for being awesome!"

"The air conditioner was dripping on our table. The waiter only really served the sections of our table that was accessible. They forgot a dish asked for three times. Half the table could not get refills on water. Yes, our party was large. We were told when the reservation was made that they could handle it. That all said. The food was fantastic. Smaller parties probably have great experiences."

"I ordered Ossobuco. Above the entrees, it states that they are served with steamed organic vegetables and potatoes. I did not get either one. In the description of the Ossobuco, it states Braised veal shank with vegetables in a white wine sauce, served with Parmesan cheese risotto When I asked the waitress for the vegetables and potatoes, she asked about it and told me that they are only braised with them, they don't come with the meal, even though it says served with vegetables and potatoes. They would not honor what the menu said."

"we sat at the bar. the staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was funny. they have many mixed drinks and at least 20 beers on hahn. eating was very good. I recommend the bison burger and spicy chicken sandwich. the prices are very fair. we were at least 3 hours there that made us fun. the personal was also friendly enough to take us home with whiskey souvenir glasses. we will definitely visit again when we are back in this opposite of California."

"Hands down the best food you can find in San Luis Obispo!! From the appetizers to the main course to the desert, everything was excellent! The burgers and chicken sandwiches are to die for! If I could rate this restaurant a 10 star I would. I recommend anyone to 1865 that is looking for great food for a great price. The place was very well kept and sanitary during these crazy corona days. The service was outstanding and the waiters made sure we had everything we needed. I ate the Black Bean Burger, was as good as I make at home, great flavor. First visit in 13 years, might have to visit again sooner that 13 years. "We arrived around 8 pm after being told by Giuseppe's that we would have a 1 hour and 45 minute wait. While debating our options, we remembered a charming little local taqueria we had passed just around the corner. The gentleman who took our order was very kind and helpful, and he informed us that there are free refills on Jamaica and soda. I ordered a chile relleno and a vegetarian soft taco with a side of beans and rice, which he kindly turned into a custom combo for me. My boyfriend chose the carne en su jugo, which is essentially a soup with beef, beans, cilantro, and onions. Everything was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere was nice with soccer games playing on the screens. I would definitely give it a 5 out of 5 and highly recommend it!"

"I booked an early dinner and wanted to try this place out for a while. After reading some of the reviews I was a bit reluctant, but we were seated immediately. Ordered drinks, the bar was a little slow but nothing to complain about. My wife ordered the steak salad which was good. I ordered the prime burger and sweet potato fries and a salad. Burger was really good, two patties made to order, they brought fries instead of the candy but they corrected the mistake and the sweet potato fries were yummy. Would have been better hot. The salad was fresh with two large strips of bacon. Overall, the food, the service and the ambience of the restaurant were somewhere between fair and good. Could give them another shot but wouldn't rush back."

"My biggest complaint? The tater tots need to be properly crispy! If you go for the tater tots (which I believe is the only choice these days), they should have a crispy exterior and a fluffy, steamy center. It’s a delicate balance between burning them and ending up with a soggy mess that falls apart into a mushy pile. Is this the best breakfast burrito in town? Not quite. Is it in the top 10? Yes! Top 5? Well, that's a tough competition between this one and Kreuzberg. They’re almost identical, but this one has better bacon and eggs. On the other hand, Kreuzberg does their tots perfectly... sometimes."

"Three years ago, my friend and I stopped here on the way to Hearst Castle. It was a cold fog day and I ordered the Carne e su Jugo, which is a soup with ground beef and bacon. That warmed my soul and I always remember because I couldn't find it anywhere else. This time we had to take the 101 for snow on the 5. We threw around here because I believed that soup. It was the same - just so good and just as satisfying. The interiors have remained unchanged and the staff is still very friendly. With almost every order they give you a small white plate to fill on chips. Chips and salsa are unlimited and self-service! There is no mild salsa if you are the type that cannot deal with spiciness, but the pico de gallo in my opinion is quite mild. street parking only that can be a problem for lunch or dinner hour. On a sunny day it is great to dine on their terrace. Definitely recommend coming here, even if you're over."

"I was really hungry, so I ordered a large pizza, wings, and an order of the 'mac n ' cheese ' made with penne pasta. The pizza was great but they forgot to do half and half sauce. The wings were awesome! The 'mac n ' cheese ' was horrible. I think it would have been good if it had sauce in it! I 'm not sure if they ran out of sauce or if that 's how they make that (I highly doubt it). It was so dry. In fact, my pizza seemed to lack a little sauce too, now that I think about it but, again the pizza was good and I 'd recommend it. It 's a shame I didn 't get to try the red sauce because, they 've won awards with their traditional pizzas. The staff was great and very friendly."

"Friendly staff members, very fast service, and delicious vegan comfort food for a wet winter – that was our Ziggy’s experience. We tried three items and had them down by the creek in Downtown SLO – a good place to eat your Ziggy’s take out – there are even indoor tables in the Mission Mall. We had the following dishes, which I ranked from excellent to quite good: The avocado egg-rolls were perhaps the highlight definitely worth trying. The Ratchet fries were really delicious but a little salty, so they are best if shared (otherwise, consult your doc). The KCB (Korean Cauliflower Bites) were pretty good too – I think I would get the KCK next time to include some greens By the way, Ziggy’s just opened a second branch to start 2022 with a bang – this one is in Paso Robles! I’m giving Ziggy’s 4.5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact, for these reasons: • All the food is vegan. Adopting a plant-based diet is the top thing you can do to mitigate deforestation climate change and to end animal cruelty and the insidious negative impact that the meat industry has on society. • Ziggy’s supports other local businesses: the milkshakes are made with vegan ice cream from Scoop the Magic. • Food is packaged in cardboard boxes and a paper bag. • Would be good if Ziggy’s switched to compostable sauce containers so that waste stream can be simplified to 100% compost. It’s better for the planet and easier all round if all waste is compostable. • Brands for meat-alternatives are named, which is helpful – Beyond Meat, Just Egg, Impossible, and Gardein. • I’d rather Beyond Meat than Impossible (on the Ratchet fries) – it’s a more sustainable product. Of course, both of them are way better than meat! • Lemonade is made in-house. Other drinks seemed indie at first but are owned by mega corps – Topo Chico is owned by Coca-Cola and San Pellegrino is owned by Nestlé."
