"This was a co-workers recommendation. I would not have guessed that it was an asian fusion type restaurant by the name. It 's tucked back in Calder Way and off the main drag. There is a metered parking lot nearby or you can find a garage that 's 3 blocks away. We were quickly seated and service was great. The restaurant was clean, small and interesting. They have tables with swings for chairs? Unfortunately, we sat in regular chairs. I 'm not sure if this place was something else previously but there was some out of place decor.The menu has a variety of asian inspired options with rice or noodles. Some options were familar and others were new to me. Food presentation was excellent. Our party, in general, raved about their dishes. I got the kimchi fried rice and thought there would have been pieces of kimchi throughout but no. We enjoyed their variety of tea options and drank two whole pots on a cold winter 's day. Everything had great spice and kick. Pricing was reasonable with most dishes around $12-14."

"Gigi's substantially changed their menu ahead of Father's Day so that it differed from the online version not only were the options quite different, but the menu was substantially shorter one page, very few options . Furthermore there were no vegetarian options besides salads, only one fish option the shrimp dish had sausage in it , and nearly all dishes had a substantial element of spiciness to them while I love spice, one member of our party is very sensitive and had difficulty figuring out an option . What made our experience particularly difficult was Gigi's refusal to allow minor substitutions i.e. condiments, spice level and refusal to add a protein to a salad that the restaurant had in stock which we would have been more than happy to pay for , which was explicitly an option on the old menu. While I understand why a chef would not want to back up their kitchen for customer substitution requests, this policy should have been relaxed considering the extremely short menu that had been changed at the last minute in fact, the online version of the menu still had not been changed by the time we sat at our table. But the most frustrating portion of our evening was when the manager came over to ask how we were doing. One member of our party brought up politely the last minute menu change and lack of options for diners, to which the manager perplexingly retorted that Gigi's didn't want to allow additions/substitutions because it might create an influx of customers to the establishment ??? , and that proteins were still allowed to be added to dishes for breakfast options but not dinner again, ??? . I should note that my dishes crab soup, salmon were delicious, and the service by our waitress was lovely. However this did not extend to the all of the dishes that my companions ate an over cooked burger, bland grits, etc. , and their negative experience regrettably ruined what should have been a relaxing Father's Day dinner."

"We spent two hours at the restaurant, watching guests who arrived after us being served and leaving before us. Despite having made reservations and arriving on time, we waited almost 20 minutes for anyone to take our drink orders. After that, we waited nearly an hour for our salads. At the one hour and 45-minute mark, we finally flagged down a waitress and requested our meals to-go because we had simply lost patience. No one checked in on us or offered any explanation for the delays. It was baffling to see other diners enjoying multiple courses and settling their bills while we were still waiting for our salads. There was no apology or effort to make our dining experience better; we felt entirely ignored. It was incredibly frustrating to observe the attentive service given to the tables around us, while we received none—no drink refills, no communication, nothing. We ended up spending $200 on an anniversary dinner that we had to finish at home, feeling tired and irritable. While the food was quite good, it was definitely overpriced, and the service was dreadful. There are many other places where you can enjoy a romantic meal with great service and a lovely atmosphere at a more reasonable price."

"Stopped in for lunch on a road trip from Indiana to Delaware. We ordered cheese tortellini which she accidentally brought out raviolis instead. Which we weren’t upset about, just surprised. We also switched the marinara with Alfredo sauce- the Alfredo sauce wasn’t smooth or creamy. It was almost just melted cheese over the raviolis. I also ordered a bowl of chicken noodle. And I was disappointed in the flavor. It just felt like the soup was canned soup heated up for serving. The rolls were okay. The rolls had an excessive amount of Italian oil. The server was super sweet though. The food wasn’t awful- we were just disappointed in the flavors while dining at an Italian restaurant."

"I've had nothing but good experiences here. It's refreshing to see such a friendly staff. Nothing outstanding, but they make you feel warmly welcome and comfortable. It feels family-run, and when you dine in you feel like a part of the family. You'll never be hurried out of the restaurant, but you'll also never have to wait too long for the check. The waiters always seem to stop by at the perfect time. 5/5 for service. The food is quite good. It may not be 100% authentic, it might lack complexity of flavor, yet something about it is special: 100x better than the curries I can make myself. Even the rice by itself is phenomenal. Nothing tastes frozen, you can see there's serious effort and pride put into the food. Doesn't take long to arrive. The menu is short enough to show the chef's confidence but long enough to have plenty of delicious options. 4/5 almost perfect. The atmosphere is alright. I'd be excited to see new renovations as it does seem a bit outdated, but overall it's relaxing, peaceful, not too stuffy, too casual or too formal. Very clean. You get treated to some nice tranquil Indian music. A competent restaurant owned by intelligent, hard-working, and friendly people. You really can feel the effort and care they put in. I always leave fat and happy. I hope you'll continue to succeed. Thanks guys."

"The miso soup was delicious and not overly salty; it was truly out of this world! For just $14.00, we enjoyed an incredible selection that included katsu chicken, miso soup, California rolls, potstickers, and rice with orange slices. The king kong roll, featuring salmon, cream cheese, and a hint of green swash plus other ingredients, was also noteworthy. The portions were generous and artfully plated, with fresh ingredients that complemented each other beautifully and a nice little kick. We also had the pork gyoza—six pieces of these fried delights are always a must-have for me. The fried potstickers from Tokyo Sushi Hibachi set a new standard for me; they were juicy with a perfect pan-sear and bursting with flavor in every bite, simply delicious! They came with a salty-sweet dipping sauce that brought everything together beautifully. I can’t recommend this place enough—definitely a five-star experience!"

"I had a completely different buffet experience here. they have to choose their sweet, beats, sauces and seasoned together with different types of nudels and rice. they take their choice and cook it for them. they also have desserts to choose fruits and suppen. the food tasted great and the service was fast. I had fun here, it's not too expensive for a buffet restaurant. would definitely recommend!"

"Nothing tops walking down the street at 2 or 4 am coming home from a party and passing a halal cart. When i tell you, i absolutely devored lamb gyro and lamb on rice with both sauces multiple days of the week it is one of the few things i was proud of doing those nights. Sober me always woke up fed and with leftovers. It's definitely a must-have at Penn State. Especially if you're in the party scene. RIP dumpster fire and chumps. Hope the mural I did in chumps basement is still there. Probably not since he didn't get most of his security deposit back.Anyway, it's great if you're not inebriated too. Quick snack late at night or afternoon if they're open. They do have some inconsistent hours, could be open at 6 pm until 4 am, could open at 3 pm and close at 1 am. Good study food. Would recommend for anyone who enjoys foodDietary restrictions: Great Halal, no pork foods or contamination. Clean kitchen set up"

I had to request that a young worker change his gloves before handling my toppings, as he had just been touching the register, money, and counters after assisting the previous customer. He was about to put his unclean gloves near the food bins and my sandwich. When I asked him to put on clean gloves, he looked at me as if I was unreasonable."

"This is my favorite go-to pizza place and I´ve lost count of how many times I´ve been here over the last few months. I love the high quality ingredients and the homemade mozzarella made fresh everyday is a huge plus for me. The staff is super friendly and helpful and if you´re so lucky to meet with either Brenden or Marek you will see that their go above and beyond attitude really does make the experience. Also, thank you guys for telling me that I can ask you to warm up the cookies so that it comes out freshly baked at all times! This is the best pizza place in State College by far, I highly recommend it!!"

"I visited Kondu in August of this year. Based on another review, I ordered the chicken fried rice. While the portion size was extremely generous, unfortunately, the food was too bland to eat. I went back and asked very nicely for some sauce or veggies tohelp with the taste, but my request was initially refused outright. I finally convinced her to *allow* me to pay an additional$7 for a container of sautéed veggies. I was just trying to salvage my meal. (Unfortunately, it didn’t help. The young manworking there sympathetically suggested I might like the Teppanyaki better next time, but because of my first experience withboth food and service, I haven’t yet returned."

"Chicken is incredibly tender and the breading is wonderfully crunchy. Nashville is the perfect level of spice and flavor. The other flavors are pretty good too. Fries, toast, and coleslaw arent anything special though. All sauces are great but the signature sauce is probably the best. Fairly priced as well. Best chicken place in State College for sure."

"Very friendly upon arrival. We ordered $60 of food 2 beef tostadas, 3 empanadas (2 beef, 1 chicken , 2 chicken flautas, 2 tacos (1 beef, 1 pork , 2 churros. (Also a slice of tres leches and soda from their fridge. The cashier rang us up, and handed us our receipt. The receipt lists out the item purchased, but does not itemize the *type* of item. (Read 3 tacos, not 1 chicken taco, 1 cheese taco, 1 beef taco, etc. The chef handed us our boxed items, and we went back to the car. As we opened the boxes in the parking lot, checked our items. We realized that out of the 11 prepared items we ordered, we were missing just one a beef tostada. We went back in to let them know we were missing an item. The cashier met us with an abrupt “No you’re not, I watched her put it in the box.” We said we would go back to the car and bring in the 3 bags to show them that one item was missing, and he said “No I’ll just give you a free one” with arrogant sarcasm. We had no problem spending $60, so I’m not quite sure what we gain by lying about one missing $3 item out of 11 requested items. Ultimately, the chef prepared and handed us the beef tostada. After we got back to the car the 2nd time, we bit into the empanadas (dough with meat which is sealed and fried to distinguish between the 2 flavors (beef and chicken , only to find that we were given chicken and cheese instead, and were missing the beef altogether. Because of the first experience, we didn’t bother going in to complain. The receipt isn’t itemized so we aren’t able to prove the item we ordered, so we figured it was no use anyway.Food is incredible, service is absolutely abysmal. That $3 cost the restaurant a repeated $60 order, as we eat locally very often."

"I ordered a pork egg roll and chicken fried rice. The egg roll came out quickly but was lukewarm, stale, and far from appetizing. I couldn’t even wash it down with water since it tasted like it came from a bathroom sink. The chicken fried rice was okay, albeit a little greasier than I prefer. It was definitely better than the fried tofu, which had a rancid flavor and a rubbery texture—completely inedible for me. To make matters worse, the prices on my bill were higher than what was listed on the menu. I can understand price increases, but not disclosing the actual prices feels quite dishonest. This restaurant has so much potential, but it gives the impression of a dive that charges P.F. Chang's prices. I would recommend steering clear of this place until they improve their cleanliness or lower their prices, ideally both."

"this is an answer to a jake life or jacob clark . we must do this because he has removed his own reviews repeatedly after we had answered them more than a dozen times. long story short. He's not a customer of us, last time he ordered us more than 3.5 years ago. he was mad at us because he got a parking lot on 5/26/2022 near our load. he cried to the meter dam so hard that she had to have a spark for help. then he left us bad critikens about everything and everything, from coworkers smoking outside the shop, eating was cold and delivery was late, undercooked eating but he has not ordered more than 3.5 years with us. he also called our shop to argue and fight directly the owner. the owner is currently dealing with cancer treatments and still has to deal with this harassment problem of him for 2 weeks nonstop. that must stop. every time we respond to his reviews to publish the truth about it, he takes the post down to hide it and make a new claim. we explained that we have nothing to do with parking. they are the one who tries to silence us by deleting their own reviews and we will be tired of answering their nonsense."

"We’ve come to eat late after work a few times over the past few months. Arrived around 9:45p and they close at 11pm on Friday’s. Each time we’ve experienced poor customer service and the food has been cold, lukewarm, or not fully cooked.Last night we waited over 10 minutes just to be greeted by a waiter and get a drink order taken and the restaurant wasn’t that busy.. during that time staff was fooling around and laughing in the kitchen behind us, I guess they did not notice we were waiting..Food was lukewarm and it took longer than necessary to wait for just salad and breadsticks (that’s all we ordered). We look forward to having a hot bowl of soup on a cold night after a long day and it was not even hot. The spinach was still fresh and not cooked into the soup, just kind of thrown in. I don’t even remember finding chicken in the chicken and gnocchi soup. The waiter explained that they had to make the soup themselves that late at night but there’s still an hour until close. Seems the staff tried to close up shop early (when the restaurant still had many people in it) and they don’t deliver the same customer service experience during the last hour they are open as they do during the entire day.Waiter seemed to try to rush us by clearing the table while one of our family members was still finishing her meal..A previous visit we had a moody waitress who did not even smile and seemed unamused to be there and it made us feel like a bother.Please just close your restaurant at 10 or earlier if you’re going to to do this to customers who come in during the later hours."
