"For our main courses, I ordered a special pulled beef sandwich with au jus and fries, while my husband chose the Saxonburger, their signature dish. When my sandwich arrived, it was missing the au jus sauce. When I inquired about it, I received a small container of thick brown gravy that tasted like something straight from a jar. I also requested ranch dressing for my fries, but it was too watery to adhere to them and lacked flavor.
My meal came with an additional container of what we could only identify as shredded cooked cabbage. If it was meant to be coleslaw, it was completely devoid of any seasoning or dressing—just plain cabbage with no taste. My pulled beef sandwich was similarly unseasoned and bland. My husband’s Saxonburger was supposed to be topped with alfredo sauce, the feature that presumably made it their signature burger, but it was served dry. That sauce might have provided some much-needed flavor, but without it, the burger was just as flavorless as my sandwich.
It felt like they may not use any seasoning or salt in their cooking, and even the fries were left unseasoned. Perhaps we made unfortunate choices from the menu since the restaurant was busy, indicating they have their fans, but our experience didn’t leave me with any desire to return."
