"Weirdest experience yet... Some young couple sat on both sides of me, asked if I wanted to take a shot, I ordered one for myself, but only drank half of it, and decided not to drink the rest as I had a nearly full beer, got up to excuse myself to the bathroom and was told by the staff I couldn 't take my beer to the bathroom...? Since when and where? I wasn 't with friends and wasn 't going to leave my drink next to strangers that seemed more interested in me than they should be... So I obviously scoffed at the notion, laughed and took my beer to the bathroom, because it had to be a joke. I came back to the bar from the bathroom and they asked me to leave because I didn 't listen when asked not to take my beer to the bathroom!!!! What kind of hell hole is this... But they didn 't want me to pay my $80 tab before I left.... So weird... Thanks for the free food and beers, I guess? Still wondering what in the sam hill happened The wings are really good though Cheesy garlic bread was only good to sop up wing sauce, a little over toasted and crunchy. Heard the pizza is good, but I was there for the wings and they didn 't disappoint. Just don 't take your beer to the bathroom or you 'll get a free meal Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3"

"after thorough discussions about vegan options and ordering vegan burger on salat, the waitress gave it announcing was the veg burger. When I started eating it, it reminded me of real meat, I was broken up and checked the entrance that veggie burger said. then I asked what seemed to be a bone fragment, and asked if this was a beyond fleshpatty or something similar, they hastened for a past in the back and confirmed that it was a cow. I ran into the bathroom and wept and made me throw it. how it turned out that my partner got the real Veggie-Patty and I didn't. for the record he said that it was also rough, shattered mushy, etc. I recommend to them to starve rather than kick in this death trap. 9 years without animals are gone because someone made a mistake. big."

"This restaurant has a dog-friendly outdoor area, complete with a bowl of water for my dogs. The staff is friendly and attentive, patiently answering all my questions. The smoked salmon tacos featured generous pieces of salmon and came with a delicious mango salsa. While there is some traffic noise, the parking is ample and convenient. The bathroom was clean, which I appreciated. I also liked that I was not seated in a back corner near the garbage cans, a situation that often occurs when I dine alone. I felt valued, treated with the same care, kindness, and respect as any larger group. I highly recommend this place."

"Terrible service from start to finish! We were greeted by rude staff upon entering. We were told they wouldn't do take out orders because they were so busy (they weren't that busy). Then after waiting forever and being lied to about the wait-time, we finally got to a table. Another 30 minutes goes by before we have to grab a server and they go to get our server. Then almost another 45 minutes and we have to ask for our food to be put in a box and get the check. So I guess nearly 2 hours later we finally got a take out order."

"Unfortunately, this restaurant now only offers takeout orders. As a longtime local, it was disappointing to find out that we couldn't sit down to eat. We had to order everything at the front counter and our food came in to-go containers, including our entrees. We had to serve ourselves with plates and utensils, and there was no need to tip since we did everything ourselves. The tables were all dirty and we noticed three employees standing behind the counter, seemingly waiting for phone orders. It was a sad experience for us to see the restaurant in this state."

"I adore this restaurant for its Vegan meatloaf and Buffalo cauliflower! They also offer a delicious black bean burger. The menu has fantastic vegan choices. Even our waitress was vegan."

"My grandson and I stopped at Donner Lake for some fishing after spending the morning there. We needed to grab a bite before heading home to Roseville, and pizza is always a favorite of my grandson's. I was pleasantly surprised to find out they serve pizza in a pan. That was a great bonus since my grandson prefers plain cheese pizza and I enjoy a combination of toppings. We ordered a Jumbo Slice, which was another fantastic surprise for us; just one slice was more than enough to take home. I was also surprised that my granddaughter finished her slice, as she tends to eat light. This really shows how good the pizza was! I took some photos, but unfortunately, I lost them—what a bummer! If you find yourself in the area, I highly recommend checking this place out."

"This restaurant is a popular spot for both locals and tourists, so be sure to pay attention during your visit. The staff works quickly to get orders out, and it can get busy. During our visit, some customers placed orders and left without claiming their food. The staff called out multiple times, but if no one responded, the order was gone. Make sure to pay attention and keep track of your order to avoid a longer wait. Despite this, the atmosphere was fun and the food and coffee were delicious. The bagel sandwich was simple but tasty, though it could have used a bit more butter."

"We had lunch here on a Tuesday and sat outside despite the chilly weather (we had our dog with us). Nicole our server made sure we had a heat lamp and took great care of us. It was taco Tuesday with $7.50 margaritas and three of their tacos were $2.50 each . I loved the cauliflower pastor and would order three of them next time. The pork negra taco was really good but the pollo verde wasn’t that great. My husband has the mushroom burrito and enjoyed it too. Next time we need to go without the dog so we can sit inside. It has a very cool vibe and let Nicole it’s hoppin’ at night. Definitely worth checking out if you are nearby."

"Must visit Thai place if you are in/around Truckee. Be prepared to wait as it gets quite busy on weekends, but the food is worth it. We ordered Tom yum soup? Pad Thai, Mango curry and green curry and the all the dishes were great. The restaurant is run by an incredibly hard working woman who manages all the tables and also the take outs and billing."

"We were visiting Truckee for the holidays and were excited to see so many delicious-looking vegan options on the menu here! It's a cute place with super friendly staff and a cozy atmosphere (it is incredibly small). We ordered the Spudz, burrito, and burger off the vegan menu. The food came quite quickly and were hefty servings. Everything was okay, but not amazing. The burrito was the most disappointing, as it lacked any seasoning whatsoever. It also came with a large side of plain iceberg lettuce, for some reason. The Spudz were the most tasty dish we got, and were loaded with veggies. It was less of a scramble and more of a saute, though. Probably wouldn't go again, though we were happy the vegan options existed at all."

"However, thirty minutes later, I approached the counter to inquire about our pizza. The staff member apologized and explained that there was only one cook and that the orders had been mixed up. So whose fault was it that our order got confused? I watched as entire pizzas came out while we waited, which clearly indicates a significant error in handling our order. If they had told us it would take 30 minutes, we would have chosen to eat elsewhere. As a side note, I saw a woman nearby approach her server, expressing that “something about our food is upseting our stomachs; can we get something different?” The server responded that they would replace her meal. This all unfolded around 1 PM during the lunch rush on a Monday. Overall, the service was poor, the food disappointing, and the professionalism lacking. There are plenty of dining options in this area, so save yourself the hassle and avoid this place if you don’t want a mixed-up order and potential stomach issues."

"The most gorgeous of ambiance, dining and having drinks by the river. We got the BBQ sampler plate for about $40, drinks $9-$15, are strong drinks, btw. We got front row seats to the beautiful truckee river. It took a long time for food to get to us but I didn't mind, service was good, and also it was a bustling atmosphere with everyone there chatting and the string lights. Gorgeous way to feel sunset in truckee. The food itself, I liked the pulled pork a lot. It was either the briskey or tritip that felt a little overcooked...I think it was the tri-tip. Otherwise, the fries were yum, wish the veg kabob a bit bigger as a side. Otherwise, this was a perfect dinner."

"Extremely unenjoyable! Firstly the decor and lightning is extremely dim and seems as if the restaurant is struggling to pay their electrical bills. I was surprised to see a restaurant use only paper plates. The waitress was really unprofessional. Took no less than 5 minutes to deliver our waters or even take our order. She screamed back to the kitchen while I was actively ordering my meal. Was quite snarky and didn?t exhibit a welcoming attitude. The food was very mediocre and I suspect a lot of their produce was overdue. General kitchen malpractice. Flavors were off and textures of the noodles were inedible hard. They attempted to overcharge the bill by sneaking an ?extra noodle fee? of $5. Abysmal food that stains Thai cuisine really."

"I arrived at golden rotisserie at 8:45. A customer leaves the store with their food. I see a man behind him close the door and lock it. While I was trying to open the door making sure it was locked, everyone inside the store stared at me. From what it looked like there were customers eating inside and many/enough employees to be able to attend. I check their online website and it says they close at 9:00. But they were already closed when I got there? They can?t manage to keep up with their hours they put online. Calls won?t go through either. Very unprofessional."

"The food itself would have got five stars, the serving (the waitresses) however were the slowest I've ever experienced! We went there on a Thursday evening, they were really busy so it took quite a while for us to get seated, around 50 minutes, but it is understandable. The food was absolutely worth the wait, fantastic sushi rolls, very flavorful and balanced. The soup base for the udon is quite good too. But after we finish eating, we waited for almost 30 minutes just to get the check, we had to wave down multiple waitresses and then they just seem to disappear somewhere and never came back. They didn't seem shorthanded, we saw quite a few waitresses during our dinner, they were just all moving at a very slow speed."

"Every time I come here, I end up disappointed with their service, their food quality, and their portions.Every single time, no matter what i order, I have to always ask for extra meat and pay for it, but not even by doing that, they wouldn't serve the extra portion.I don't necessarily know what their portions are supposed to look like.But I've been to the oder locations at lemonvalley and reno, and they are completely different compared to the Truckee location.Today, I ordered a torta ahogada with xtra meat... they literally gave me a torta with nothing but extra beans, so I paid 27 dollars for a torta full of beans..... that also happened every time i ordered their tacos, ceviches, cocktails, and every single thing I've ordered before....I tried to give them a chance, but on top of my disappointment with their portions, their food isn't even fresh, and not to mention their lack of customer service....Definitely nothing close to their Lemon Valley location, and definitely not coming back to this location."

"I have been having breakfast at the Truckee’s Wagon Train Restaurant off and on for the last twenty years and some things, especially good things, never change. The breakfasts are always simple and tasty and nothing fancy, but..... for me, the country gravy and the biscuits are a wow!! and reminds me of my best friend's mom’s country gravy many years ago. Nothing too fancy since breakfast should be simple and tasty! The service is great and the atmosphere bright and cheerful. Hopefully, here is to another 20 years!"

"I found myself in a snowstorm while driving a rental car without chains. Everything was going smoothly until the California Highway Patrol made me turn around and follow a snowplow back down the hill. I decided to take an exit to find my way back. While I waited for the weather to improve, I ordered a dish that looked appealing on the menu, but unfortunately, it turned out to be rather unappetizing. I stayed there until the conditions got better. The staff member was really friendly and kindly allowed me to hang out until it was safe to leave."
