"on Thursday evening in this place on the water. happy greeted and greeted. assembled immediately, and boom, the adventurous began! the server, megan, was great. great menu-knowledge, great table-manier! there is so much to choose on this menu! for a small venue, the menu is a virtual library with choices! we chose our headdress, the hands down the best fried huh in wilmington that was the easy part! the choice of the side was a bit more difficult. I took the french fries (spicky seasoned) and roasted cauliflower (perfect seasoned with soy sauce and bacon bits the meal was served quite fast, and it was absolutely insane blow. hot, fresh, juicy and delicate. the salty tanga of the soles and the very slightly fried taste, made it really, one of the most authentic tasting fried chicken dishes I have ever had! it was just from the cast iron capability of my grandmother! and the amount of food was incredible. breast, thigh, bein and wing with two exquisite sides and completely mouthwatering bananenpudding! You can't miss it. we were first timer, but we're coming back for more and more!"

"I can't give enough praise to this 100% vegan restaurant—just don't tell your meat-loving friends; they'll never notice the difference! The daily menu features a variety of options including burgers, salads, tacos, sandwiches, and wraps, all of which are incredibly delicious. And you absolutely have to experience their Sunday brunch; it's truly mind-blowing! The service is outstanding and attentive, whether you're sitting indoors or outdoors. You must try their dessert as well! They make their kombucha in-house, which is quite popular, but it's not really my thing. They recently expanded the restaurant, adding a beautiful new area that matches the charm of the original space. I highly recommend this place—it's my favorite spot in Wilmington!"

"New Years Eve dinner. Food was excellent. Only reservation was at 9, however we were attended to quickly. The room could have been a bit brighter however gave ambience. "When it came to choosing a sauce, I paused. The friendly and helpful young man who crafted my bowl asked if I liked it spicy. I certainly do, and I figured that would help mask the kale! He recommended Sriracha, which I gladly accepted. I topped it off with seaweed flakes and wasabi, and oh my—I couldn't get it into my mouth fast enough! All the ingredients were fresh and flavorful. Even though it was a small bowl, it felt like a lot, and the taste left me craving more. I usually don't write reviews, so I forgot to take pictures, but I just needed to share about this hidden gem. For a moment, I even found myself liking kale!"

"I had called before coming and I was told dogs were allowed leashed and restrained. Me and my best friend came for music bingo, me with my dog and her with her service dog in training. A customer was letting his French bulldog run around off leash and my best friend was telling him MULTIPLE times to grab his dog because she had a service dog in training and the French bulldog kept trying to crowd him. I was also on edge because although my dog is people and dog neutral, he gets extremely nervous when a dog crowds him. Anyways, the man basically ignored my friend and the dog continued to go near her service dog in training so my best friend stuck her leg out to try to block the French bulldog from getting to her dog. Shortly after, this grown man starts screaming and cursing at her at the top of his lungs accusing her of kicking his dog. My friend tries to stand up for herself but he continues being crazy until a customer (I think tried to settle it and then the man turned his attention to him and started screaming at him and getting all in his face. The bartender, Katie, started telling him to get out (good for her! and the man proceeded to throw his card at her to pay before being escorted out. This man was CRAZY but I applaud people for standing up to him including the bartender and for standing up for my best friend with her service dog in training. We’re also thankful to the man with the sunglasses around the back of his neck who immediately stood up to the man, didn’t back down even when the guy was nose to nose screaming at him, and then escorted him out before things escalated further. Everyone in there was super sweet otherwise and even came to check on my friend after the fact. I did overhear that the man goes there often with his unleashed dog so due to this reason, I don’t think we’ll be returning unless the leash rule is completely enforced but everything else was fine! Our dogs enjoyed the atmosphere otherwise. I do want to make it clear that we don’t blame the establishment at all and that this guy was just extremely entitled and rude."

"Maya Mexican Restaurant in Wilmington is a charming spot for authentic Mexican cuisine. We were greeted right away in Spanish, which my wife speaks fluently (I’m still learning), and we were seated promptly. The chips and salsa were fantastic, with just the right amount of heat in the salsa. My wife and I both ordered tortas: I had the carnitas torta, and she chose the carne asada torta. The carnitas were prepared differently from what I'm used to on the East Coast—fried and slightly drier—but still very delicious. I highly recommend this place for anyone craving authentic Mexican food. 5/5!"

"This was our first time at the restaurant. We were celebrating my husband's birthday and seated at a very small table. When we ordered, we were informed it was tapas style and ordered multiple dishes which were great. However, they arrived around the same time and rather than space them out, a server (not ours) stated that we would be getting a lot of large dishes that would not fit on the table. It made us feel rushed and a bit discombobulated, which seemed unnecessary. If we go again, I will definitely request a different table in advance in order to have a better dining experience."

"After reading all the great reviews decided to give this a place a try. Went there for dinner last night for my friend birthday. Called in advance to make a reservation for a party of 8. When we arrived we were taken to a private room which was nice. Waited a bit for our waitress to take our order. The food came quickly after we placed our order. We noticed a bunch of the stuff was given to us which we did not order and there where things we ordered which was completely missing. We ordered sashimi but instead they gave us that sushi version which came with rice. So I feel like they were trying to be sneaky and to fill us up. Then also notice even though it’s an ayce sushi they limit you to 50 pieces of sashimi and they sashimi was diced up into cubes and not slices of fish. So it’s like u in reality they dice the fishes into about 3-4 pieces as compared to regular pieces of sashimi so even if they say limit 50 pieces you getting like about 10-12 pieces for the price. When we were ready to order more we waited over 30 minutes before they even come back to take our next order. The quality of the fish was just ok. I guess for $28 a person you can’t really expect high quality sushi. If I’m around the area and craving for sushi I might return but I would not travel out of my way for it."

"Four of us went to the restaurant for lunch. We started with the Guacamole Shrimp Appetizer, which was lacking in flavor. I ordered a frozen margarita, but it was not sweet, watery, and had very little alcohol in it. My friend enjoyed her Mahi Mahi over rice, saying it was very tasty. I ordered the new Fried Shrimp Taco dish and requested Bibb lettuce instead of a tortilla. However, the server brought it out in a tortilla. When I asked for it to be corrected, the shrimp came back cold over a small amount of shredded lettuce. The server explained that was how the kitchen made it, which was confusing. Additionally, I made a reservation on OpenTable two weeks before our meal, but had to call twice to try to receive my points, with no success. Overall, lunch was expensive and with many other Mexican restaurants in the area, I don't think I will be returning to this one in the future."

"I ordered a home delivery from here recently. The food was properly packed. The appetizers was good, tasty and decent quantity for the price. Garlic chicken was tasty but too much of oil and less quantity for the price?. I could extract and throw away, 4 to 5 tablespoons of excess oil that is flooded on top of the curry?. The chicken biriyani was also good and enough quantity for the price. All together everything was okey. Chicken biriyani, boneless: $12.99 Non-veg assorted, appetizer: $9.99 Chicken biriyani, boneless: $12.99"

"Zocalo was recommended to us by a family member and we were not disappointed. The food and drinks were amazing. Everything was fresh and had a wide range of visual and palate attractions. Each of us chose a different entre and we tried each other out. The WOWs went on around the table, from yellow tomato / cucumber gazpacho, meatballs, steak, softshell crab, scallops ... delicious, delicious, delicious! All dinners came with beautiful pages that were incredible. I will definitely come again."

"Sushi sumo is a popular spot to get sushi. They have weekly sushi specials which is always a great idea if you like to try new rolls.I ordered the kani salad. I wish there was a description for this one. The kani salad from sushi sumo is served with a tobiko crunch topping and shredded crab with some sort of Mayo based sauce. I was not a fan of this version.I ordered the Maryland roll and the Boston roll. The Maryland roll was interesting to me because it had old bay seasoning on it. Definitely an acquired taste. The Boston rolll was a tad difficult to eat with chopsticks since due to it falling apart as soon as I picked it up.I think my next visit I will try out some of the specialty Sushi rolls."

"We dropped in for an unhurried dinner after arriving in town after a long day in the car. Osteria Cicchetti is n accessible large, central storefront in an upscale strip mall. We were promptly seated, the staff were all pleasant people; we had an enthusiastic young waitress and plenty of wait staff. We were seated in the huge main room with a view of kitchen. There is also a big side room plus a large and loud bar area. The atmosphere is lively with limited lighting. They offer a full wine list, the appetizers and menu are nearly exhaustive and Italian this is a place to languish with friends, although costs add up. Our drinks, calamari, and the veal and fish entrees were very good and service was attentive. We had no complaints. We are still in the exploratory stages of our move to near Wilmington, so everything is a new experiment. We had a bit more travel after the meal, so we limited our time, alcohol and food volumes. However, recycling back to Osteria is quite likely."

"the hostess staff was very accommodating when we demanded another table more in the direction before the restaurant than in the overflow banquet room. our waitress, lurking, was cute as possible, made a few smaller mistakes, but well covered. eating was nothing but amazing. I had the filled flounder! interesting presentation and super boiled. the knabs meet in the filling. my man had perfectly seasoned the jambalaya. the muscheln appetizer was a good amount and very tasty. the pots de cream finished the evening with the not excessively sweet taste of chocolate! I would just go to order this! a whole one of my favorite forestington restaurants by far. we also liked the location monkey junction. can not wait to the new Raleigh location next to."

"arm candy (his self-selected designation for purposes of these reviews) and I have eaten three times here. in regular nights this is an ordinary Indian restaurant, good, but nothing special. But if you can make it on Wednesday evening to nawab for the vegan buffet, they are for a tasty egg. there are 8-10 dishes for choice and they are all good. some of the dishes are dinge that I have never noticed on the menu of an Indian restaurant and I have eaten in a few. the bedroom is clean and well equipped. the buffet is about $20. hc doesn't let me nawab give me a five-star rating because it's not quite vegan or vegetarian, but know that the buffet is a five-star affair."

"When I first discovered this place I was in LOVE! Great sushi, prices and my absolute fav the Tom yum soup! I raved about this soup to anyone who would listen! However on my recent visit I was not pleased with the quality. I ordered 2 to gift one to a friend, and was embarrassed! The shrimp had an odor to it like it was bad as soon as we opened the container we both smelled it. Being as though I order this often I immediately noticed it smelled off. I didn't call or try to make it right with them. I just threw it away. I sadly have to find another spot for my soup as I don't trust this anymore. It was good while it lasted!"

"First time in Wilmington, and we wanted to go to a nice restaurant to celebrate a birthday, and Circa 1922 was exactly what we were looking for! We were in a back booth, so it was cozy and romantic, and the piano playing was wonderful, but not overly loud. Our service was outstanding, and our server was attentive but not overbearing, knowledgeable, and friendly. We decided on a bottle of champagne, and our server did a great job with this! Food was exceptional--we had the shrimp and pork spring rolls appetizer--delicious! I had the shrimp ceviche cold tapas, I really liked it and loved the marinade. My boyfriend had the filet and said it was one of the best he's ever had. We will definitely be back when we are town again!"
